Actually the issue is with people born in Canada. Parents just aren't getting their kids vaccinated. 92% of children aged 2 years had been vaccinated against measles. Similarly, 92% received the recommended number of doses of the polio vaccine. This is way too low.

It should be possible for people to have the mumps, measles and rubella vaccines as separate vaccines, instead of having all 3 at the same time. Uptake would probably go up, for those who are worried about getting all three at the same time. Also it would be useful to have a graph of effectiveness of vaccine versus dangerousness of infection, so that people can prioritize the most effective vaccinations for the most dangerous infections.

@@CraigButler-lk5yn - The issue with polio is that in poorer countries, people use the oral polio vaccine. This is a live, attenuated vaccine, which reverts to a dangerous virus within a week or two of taking it. It then gets excreted into the water. So this version is circulating in these countries. The vaccine does prevent most cases. There is a chance with OPV or getting paralysis. One in a million, which is why it isn't used in developed countries, and IPV is. So at present, there's still circulating virus around, and if it gets into a unvaccinated population, bad things WILL happen.
