Heathers but make it gay would be an amazing take on the story. Like veronica and JD finding solace in each other as the only other queer kid they know, and that co-dependence leads to the toxic relationship they end up having. JD wanting to hurt everyone else because of the homophobic environment she grew in. The Heathers being those girls who want to practice kissing with their friends for when they have boyfriends, but will call queer girls "d*ke" in the same sentence.

I dunno I feel like making everything with gay characters in it all about how they're gay is bad representation. I just happen to date a different gender than you but that's not my entire life just like how chasing partners probably isn't your entire life. And JD is a villain. He's a hot villain with a kind of tragic backstory but it would need some adjusting from just homophobia. That makes him too sympathetic in my opinion. He's psychotic and we love him for it. Once again, this is just my opinion and you can have a different one of course.
