merci! actually "souper" is part of an older system where: -in the morning it's déjeuner, just like break-fast, dé-jeuner, -at noon it's diner, and -in the evening it's souper. This system is still used in Canada and parts of Belgium and Switzerland afaik.

L'anglais est ma langue maternelle. Le moment le plus embarrassant dans la classe de français était quand j'essayais de dire "j'ai faim" et je ne savais pas comment prononcer correctement "faim." Alors, j'ai dit "J'ai femme" et je suis devenu rouge comme une betterave quand le professeur était incrédule. S'il vous plaît, apprenez à prononcer correctement le français pour éviter de vous embarrasser dans le futur.

Mr. Pascal, From my understanding, "Je prends mon petit-dejeuner, je prends mon dejeuner, and je prends mon diner are basically the French versions of saying I am having my breakfast, I am having my lunch or I am having my dinner. And the verbs petit-dejeuner, dejeuner and diner basically translate as I am breakfasting, I am lunching and I am dinnering. But what if you just want to say I am eating breakfast or I am eating lunch or I am eating dinner? Can't you say je mange breakfast or je mange lunch and je mange dinner?

Thank you, but the French words were spoken to quick which is quite difficult to grasp. My suggestion is kindly repeat the French words second time slowly.

wow! au canada, nous n'apprendons pas quelque chose des mots: un gouter, un encas, et la difference entre le diner et le souper (c'est le meme chose a nos). Aussi, j'ai appris que le dejeuner est le formulaire equivalent a le petit-dejeuner et le diner est le formulaire equivalent a le dejeuner. il est tres confus.... peut-etre je devrais jus utiliser le francais moderne de la France. Oublie Quebecois francais.... il est archaique... si j'esaay parler le francais avec autre francophone, ils ne me comprehendront pas.... au canada, nous n'utilison pas le systeme DELF dans notre education francaise. peut-etre nous devrions? je pense que question est au dessus de moi. actuallement, si quelqu-un d'autre peut ditz-moi comment le systeme langue francais au canada fonction, laisse-moi connais s'il vous plait.
