Meaco Dehumidifier Problems

Ғылым және технология

I need your assistance coping with Meaco dehumidifier problems.
They are noisy. That’s just a problem with the product in general.
The problem is water removed from the air ending up on the floor.
If the unit is leaving puddles on the floor, and that isn’t because you did not put the reservoir in place, it may be because the water bucket is leaking, off center, the floor is uneven -
If my floor suddenly became that uneven, the dehumidifier is the least of my problems.
The unit may be freezing, due to a refrigerant leak or poor air flow. The puddle could then be the melt water overflowing the drain tube.
If I have a refrigerant leak, it is hard to find someone to refill refrigerant in a dehumidifier.
For dehumidifiers, that is usually the purview of an appliance repair person, or sending it to an authorized repair center. Since Meaco is primarily British product, you could be looking at international shipping for your dehumidifier.
If anything is going on an international trip, it is me, not my appliances. A new dehumidifier is cheaper.
Replace the filter before you start calling tech support. Rinse it out in the sink, or find a replacement part online.
I’d talk to tech support just to figure out the error messages.
The unit has three main relativity settings, three water drops for forty percent humidity, two drops and a thumbs up for sixty percent, and one drop for eighty percent.
If the humidity level is set that high, it would have no impact on the mold in the room. It would also mean the unit would stay off, thinking there’s no need for it to be on.
Try putting it in the mode with the two shirts lit up, for dry washing. That is for a roughly forty percent humidity level, and may get you around a control board that otherwise thinks it shouldn’t be running.
It is running, just not well.
If the three wavy bars were lit up, I’d know that meant the water tank was full, which would cause it to shut off.
I’d know that was the cause because the alarm would sound.
If the unit is beeping at you, the unit is either too hot or malfunctioning.
If it is sitting in a hot, damp room, how could a unit based on collecting an AC coil’s humidity overheat?
The Meaco units are designed not to run when it is over 40 degrees Celsius, 104 Fahrenheit. And since it is an electrical appliance running motors and fans, it could beep at you simply for overheating before it catches fire.
Meaco was one of the few brands not recalled due to fire hazard a couple years ago.
Then that’s one problem you know you’re not likely to have.

I have thoroughly tested several Meaco dehumidifiers (In fact I have 4 different models in my house as I type) and have not had any of the problems mentioned in the funny cartoon. Generally speaking compressor type dehumidifiers are noisier than desiccant models but that's just the way they are designed. Meaco DD8L's can operate at under 40 dBa while compressor models generally operate at around 43 dBa (though brands and models do vary). I haven't had any noise problem with either compressor or desiccant Meaco dehumidifiers. In fact I think that many Meaco dehumidifiers are benchmark products here in the UK. The Meaco Zambezi has 6 features never previously seen on a dehumidifier, the Meaco Dehumidryer is the first dehumidifier in Europe to feature a DC inverter and the new Meaco Wall range has set new standards for width on wall mounted dehumidifiers.

All home dehumidifiers were never meant to be operated without someone in attendance. Its been phased out of a lot of user manuals over the years for marketing purposes. Because of this and several other issues with normal dehumidifiers we create the DryFan. Its totally new, can be hidden in cupboards and never needs to be emptied. Being commercial grade its safe to use in the home all day every day.

I have the meaco arete one and it's making my house sweltering. It's 24.5°c in my house in October and I'm in Scotland... anyone else?. I called them and they said it can only heat the air about 1°c. But google said some dehumidifiers can heat the house upto 15°c. This heat only started after I got it and they're basically refusing it's their problem. :/

Arete is a compressor dehumidifier so will not be warming the air up more than 1°C. Desiccant dehumidifiers warm the air up by 10-12°C, but you don't have one of those dehumidifiers.

@@MeacoUK but wouldn't it then when it is on all the time continue to gradually heat it up once all the air has passed through multiple times?..Seems the case as when it's on the laundry setting all day the place gets so hot.

@@m0onagedaydream826 Laundry mode switches off after 6 hours. The only way on a compressor machine that you would notice an increase in air temperature is if you have it running in a VERY small room with the door closed, the effect would only be in that room. If you have it on a landing or hallway and leave the internal doors open to dehumidify the whole house then there will be no effect at all.
