What a chill guy. You'd never assume that this guy produced some of metalcore's most iconic albums.

He gets sheepish about it too. I ran into him and Phil Sgrosso at a Fallujah/BTBAM/Devin Townsend show, and he was so bashful when I said he was a guitar hero to a lot of us growing up in the early 2000’s.
silliest guitar showoff ever... yet, also the most informative. Gotta love adam
Entertaining & informative as ever. Adam D. is a total dude!
Musical genius
killswitch! seen a lot of shows, One of my favorites! never has he played that guitar on stage. lol

"other than that it's pretty much stock". other than pulling out the neck pickup, disconnecting the tone knob, taking out the pickup selector, switching the bridge, tuners, and nut. it's stock. hahahah
@Enginecastgaming

he said the other thing by that are stock
Bro you are god. How the hell do you play the way you do. Nobody can compete with the style. Rock on always. I can only wish I could play like that
Most guitar players: yeah so I have the pickups swapped out, there's some wear marks here and there Adam D: my sweat is fucking disgusting
Wolfgangs are awesome, highly underrated guitars. Even the entryline guitars play like a $1500 guitar.

Love the band just got a mij wolfgang lost my 1st one in 2000s to drug addiction so this one is a special reminder of being years clean and i slso sweat when i play so i know how quick it destroys parts on a guitar esp the fine tuners of a floyd , great idea to just out smart it and build it sweat proof lol keep rockin bro
Bolt hole issues due to a quartersawn neck. The Screws don't "grab" like they would on a flat sawn neck.
@higler.

@jared66sizzle

Screwing into quartersawn wood yields less "grip strength" Because of the orientation of the grain. The screws move more easily from side to side and are likely to pop out. Much like strap button screws when you screw into end grain on the side of your guitar.
@higler.

jared66sizzle Wow, surprised there aren't more issue with necks then.
He shreds. Love his work.
Super cool guy, great guitarist!
Damn I was hoping he'd play.. even just a little bit.

"This is the thing I attempt to play every night" ~ Adam D
It's weird he needed to remove the fine tuner bridge... His Caparison PLM-03 had a fixed, fine tuner bridge too. Furthernore, the Wolfgand fine tuners are further away because they're built into the tailpiece, as where the Schaller on the Caparison, the "tailpiece" and bridge were all one piece and that guitar lasted him a long while.
Great color on that guitar!
got the same problem with the sweaty hands and it f***in' sucks when im playing guitar...my pickups have metal covers and they've already started to corrode...thinkin of replacing those with emg's since they have plastic covers and a great sound
like what you did to guitar Adam very interesting I'm huge Killswitch engage fan
does he use the stock wolfgang bridge pickup?
I have always been a super fan of you Adam even seen the price is right when u were on it and dominated the show..I did a version of your "my last serenade"let me know what u think love you guys
Oh my god, I learned more about his sweat than his guitar. That's ok I guess . Can I buy a waterproof Adam dutkiewitz signature series? All bullshit aside, you're awesome dude. Keep it up.
I've got the same guitar and Adam is right, best guitar ever!!
Is that a Piezo the tail of the bridge? What is the black accessory?

Awesome Guitar!
I have that guitar but in a different colour, really good metal guitar
I'm so happy to hear that a popular musician shares my dilemma. Of course, I have hyperhidrosis and I sweat so much that sometimes I just skip playing my guitar even though I want to play it... The sweat corrodes the metal and my fingers just slip off the damn strings.... so frustrating... It makes me wonder if I could ever stand to play on stage under the hot lights... even though I WANT TO REALLY FUCKING BAD.

Eddie Van Halen's gear is the best, down to his amps, the peavey 5150 and the fender, and his guitars are top notch, i just think modifying them is weird because he has already put so much thought into them , right? I guess do what you want, thats what led him to destroying so many guitars to learn what he liked, and wound up making the first superstrat!
Daniel Tosh?
That time he talked about sweating.
Depending on the players preference,sometimes the removal of things and downgrades become upgrades.
Great pickup.... but which pickup is in the bridge?

@@LONESTAR33 so the alnico II pickup? hard to imagine, with their tight sound?
Great guitar.
If you see these guy play live, he is literally jogging in place while he's playing and jumping around. I was close enough to the stage during their show this year in LA with Anthrax and I could see sweat pouring off his elbows. Its funny cuz he comes out to play in workout gear, got some short shorts on, tank tee, sweat band on his head and running shoes with a knee brace. Guy either came to play a show or workout lol really talented nonetheless
wait.. what about sweat?
thing he "attempts" to play... lol he is an amazing musician!!! he plays the fuck out of that thing. way to modest!
How did he fill the pickup hole? Can't really tell.

Is he using U.S model or another?
This is why I can also never have black or cosmo or any other color hardware. Worn and rust from my sweat pretty quick. I could only imagine if i was a pro night after night. I doubt I'm as sweaty as him tho.
nice
Does that guitar have a short scale or is he 7 feet tall? It looks so small on him.
@NSimon357
7 жыл бұрын
he's really tall and his hands are HUGE too, so the guitar looks tiny
@cameronnorman291
7 жыл бұрын
Erik Harker the evh Wolfgang models have a smaller body and a shorter scale length
And now he plays Caparison?
I have the derpest hands compared to him, that's why I feel like I've lifted the world after beating my hands into being able to play some of his riffs. Any hard riff.
Why is the guitar so small
And this is why I’m putting threaded metal inserts in my neck.
Very funny sweat story!
That would be the Hops and Barley he consumes on a nightly basis ......hehehe
So the guitar is not really a “road warrior” then
Adam D guts the EVH, but the rest is stock....?
I like how he talks about sweat but dressed like he's about to take the stage in the northpole
EVH guitars rule!!!
Anybody else ever thought Adamn looks like Daniel Tosh ?
He should get it custom made like that
So you had to modify the shit out of it. and then. the neck blew out? yeah.. uhm, never getting this guitar
@OiHereticX
9 жыл бұрын
They're monstrous guitars honestly. With the type of shit he does on stage and the strain he puts on his guitars, I'm surprised that's all that happened.
@DropdaLTDtoB
9 жыл бұрын
But don't forget, parts like the bridge, nut and tuners he changed only because he didn't like the floyd rose system (which makes me wonder why he chose that guitar in the first place) The story about the neck was terrifying though...

+jonathan Svärdh He didn't /have/ to, he just did it more or less for the sake of simplicity and for the sake of having less stuff to break courtesy of his corrosive sweat. Ultimately if you put your guitars through hell on tour, stuff will break catastrophically, but luckily Adam D has a killer guitar tech and enough fans in the guitar industry to be able to not worry so much about it like most of us would. That being said, EVH guitars are actually really solid instruments. I mean, they're Fenders, practically.
@danieljwillen1993
8 жыл бұрын
+DropdaLTDtoB I believe that he used the set tail version of this guitar which does have fine tuners and a locking nut , much like Mick Thompson's Ibanez signature
I sweat alot (wearing a hat, scarf, and heavy jacket).
Thats AD Wolfgand
Eddie would be proud
he's hanging on to this guitar like his life depends on it
"So I basically ripped the rhythm pickup off then nearly ripped the neck off" xD
He looks all Townsend. Lmfao
He’s just as goofy in person lol
He looks like my uncle
I wish I could play half as good as Adam d.... 🙁
Either he is like 10 foot tall, or that guitar is tiny lol.

the guitar looks good but i would not own it or use it.
I thought it was Seth Rogan at first 😂
I can't believe that one of these guitars go for over $3000 and is supposed to be as Eddie Van Halen puts it...."Bomb Proof". I guess not. The chrome is supposed to be better, the neck joint is supposed to be superior, but you're having issues. I bet an 80's kramer would hold up better.
i bet you wouldn't sweat as much if you wore less clothes. A beanie a scarf and a jacket inside seems a bit excessive, adam. lol

Yeah because you sweat more than Bruce Springsteen that plays a vintage tele. Guitarists and their quirks. Smh.
I think you might be the strangest individual I've ever seen. you're trying to tell me that you can't have a normal guitar because you ooze corrosive sweat so rapidly? you are a totally bizarre individual.
