I will address an issue here. The problem with India is that a huge population ends up doing MDS via management quota. So the people who pays 30 lakhs in doing MDS belongs to upper middle class or high class. These people since they already have lots of money successfully makes clinics after MDS and flourish. It's basically all about how much money your parents have. It's a money game. If u belong to lower middle class or lower class with limited family wealth then MDS will not prove to be hugely beneficial since you have to invest again in setting up a clinic. One thing everyone should notice is that most of the PGT belong to well off families who will eventually use the wealth to climb up the ladder. In short the wealthy are getting wealthier and poor are getting poorer.

Responsibility, value, moral, time management, deadline, targets, disciplines, self respect, smart work Comes with 2 years of private practice after BDS too.... 3 years of struggle in MDS, is equivalent to 3 years of struggle of setting up a dental clinic... MDS in surgery, prostho, perio is worth the money, struggle and time....

I have many friends who barely passed BDS after many atttempts and are now MDS via management quota and works as professors in various colleges. I really feel ashamed that this is the quality of dentistry in India where the teachers are so incompetent but still holds a teaching post just because they have an MDS degree.

@@ayanchakraborty3559 that's the negativity of Indian people's.. You think failing in a particular subject makes you incompetent than that's the wrong statement that i have ever heard off!!! I know dentist who are doing great work and earning much more than any mds and the skills and knowledge they have even mds don't have it. Failing is the road to success.. All the world leaders you see today failed many times but they never gave up and now even top students with high percentiles are working under them... !!!! You cannot judge someone if they failed on some particular part of their life for you don't know what they might have gone through that phase of their life. Past doesn't matter it matters what you're in your present stage of your life.

@@livinghope1561 fist of all one who fails repeatedly in bds but completes MDS in one attempt itself makes me doubt on the dental education system. And I am very much sure u know how corrupt and incompetent most of the professors are in India. I personally know many who flunked in their respective subjects in bds but are professors in it having aquire the seats via management quota thanks fo their rich fathers. I personally know many who have seriously low knowledge and low IQ despite having an MDS degree. Very few actually have the acumen to teach proper and even fewer to work proper. India produces the max dentists in the world and the super low quality of dentistry proves the fact that there is some kind of a loop hole in the system. Even the entrance exam for MDS is basically a memory game and barely asks anything related to reasoning and logic. I am not negetive rather I have seen the system from the core and hence know the truth.

@@ayanchakraborty3559 that's what is wrong in your thought process.. You're extremely embarrassed in your life because of your failure and that is the reason you started pointing out to fingers on others without any ground basis.. Most of them fail in final year subjects it's not because of their incompetence but due to teacher student relationship and other management issues as management can fail and pass anyone they like but these won't happen in National level exams like neet and all as they are not controlled by the college or it's management... I can give you certainly some names who are called and respected in dentistry community and who even spoke in ida conferences and they have led an inspiration to many in India who failed in their final year but there skills and knowledged in practical dentistry have surpassed the knowledge of that of mds who passed in one go but still lack practical knowledge.. What's the use of passing in one go and memorising things up when they haven't been able to be successful in their practices. It's your myth that one who passes in one go are competent but they are no less than incompetent.

If you want to practice u can definitely sharpen your skills by doing MDS in clinically oriented subjects, if you want job in college then MDS is must, if u want to switch to a non clinical job still u can pursue MDS in Public Health. You can google like public health jobs, options for career ideas..u can also do MPH from recognized universities. For corporate jobs like jobs under social responsibility Scheme you can pursue MBA, hospital management.. I recommend do research, read online, judge for yourself according to what you want in future..Then whatever you choose do with all your heart. Goodluck!
