The song starts with the man lamenting that if he knew he would have been careful during his youth and would not have let it go to waste because now he sleeps against the wall of a shop and cannot even find someone to give him water to drink which literary means he is homeless. He used to drink together with women called Fatuma, Nyambura and Akinyi who pampered him by calling him 'mdosi' kenyan slang for rich guy. He wishes youth can be reversed like a car so that he can reverse his and make something out of it, get married and name his child after his mother. He had dreams of building a bricks house but there is no way he could have done it since he spent most of his years partying in clubs. He also sings that he used to spend all his time drinking beer and all beautiful women belonged to him and he could never pursue anything thing to completion he just kept postponing but never got to do it, he kept saying tomorrow which never came.
