I played this a lot as a kid. After like 1 year i got to the point you got at min 10. You are my hero, speedrunning the game of my childhood, 100% respect, love you man.

I used to play the shit out of this a kid too, but I always used to get to a point around the 11 minute mark in this video and the game was glitched so the same door every time would never open for me! I tried playing it again a few years back and couldn't even get to world 2!

Just watching and I realised now neither did I. I think I got past the world 2 boss but I don't think I ever even got past the first bit of world 3? I didn't know there was so much more to the game haha. Games were so hard when you were like 10 years old lol. Even harder now! Like I try and play Sonic 2 every now and then and jst get so badly fucked over on Metropolis, and if I manage to get to wing fortress zone I'll just die anyway! :'(

I think 9:45 is the coolest video game glitch I’ve ever seen. You just soar down into another part. Lol crazy

I hated those skating segments on World 4, although I still do find the random cow-drops hilarious. Also, the nipple-sniping in World 5 was tedious af.

This game is one of the best 3d platformers ever made! I used to play this on the PS1 for hours and hours when I was a kid. I can't remember if I ever completed it though. I think I remembering my copy getting to a door somewhere near the end and it not ever opening for me? Did anyone else playing on the PS1 have this happen to them?

wouldn't binding the mouse Y to Move allow you to run even faster, or is that not allowed?

Did anyone else have the problem where on the PS1 version (PAL), around the 11 minute mark in this video the game was glitched so the same door every time would never open and you'd be stuck not being able to progress? Very frustrating for me as a kid as the game cost me around £30 back then.

Why max is freed after just one nuke ??? Or BONES as this game calls him at the end

He just blew up the last "lock" first. When playing normally, the fans that gives you access to the locks are turned on one by one, but he went straight to the last lock without turning on its fan first.

When I was like 8 I think I played this for a year and got to world 3. I was such a BOT

I used OBS Studio. Took a little while to get it working because the game is very alt+tab unfriendly, but it should work.

21:46 was that oggy cat's poster on those boxes??

I'm suprised the world record doesn't use the boost caused by combining mouse and keyboard movement.

4:47 how do you make the interesting bomb detonate so early though? It takes forever compared to your run

After you have thrown the bomb, you can press your "Use Item" key again to start the detonation process

256 triangles is all you get.

can i move that fast without joystick?

The game adds the forward and side velocity together without clamping them, so by holding diagonal, they get to go ~41% faster. It's an "exploit" that's common to many games so you will see speedrunners use this trick in many different games.

Burned into the memory, such an outlandish and awesome title. Wish there was more real fun stuff like this instead of the 1000th Cod..
