Sri M.D.Ramanathan's Music emanated from the depths of the Divinity - his innermost Self. His Music had the following metarmophosis starting from 1. Nadha, 2.Nadhopaasana, 3.Nadhalaya , 4.Nadhaantha and finally it merges into 5.Nadha Brahman. His ever green hits were : Pari paalaya , pari paalaya...Raghunatha - Ritigowlai Sri Thyagaraja's Utsava Sampradaya kirthanam Giri Pai - Sahana Suki Evvaro - Kannada Rama Rama ...Rama Raghavaa - Nilaambari , again a Utsava Sampradaya kirthanam . Plus his own compositions like Hariyum Sivanum ondre - Ataana Saagara sangha vibho - Bhaghesri Will never satiate the Rasikas and always make them crave for more and once more. My Master , Sangita Kalanidhi Sri M.Chandrasekaran always had a special affection towards him and whenever he accompanied him on the Violin prior to the Concert , to suit the base Shruthi of Sri MDR , he will shift the Violin E string with A , A string with D and D with G string and for G , lo , he will use a Guitar String for the low Shadjam. His Concerts were always a big hit among all Rasikas. Soon after the Concert , they will always hum his music and enthusiastically leave the auditorium in an exalted mood, which I myself have seen many times. Dr.C.V.Gopal, Chennai. With a Low Shruthi yet with his deep timbre Voice he enraptured himself as well as the audience in his music simultaneously.

One of the most befitting tributes to the great immortal legend M D Ramanathan Sir. The greatness of MDR Sir's contributions to the field of music, not alone Carnatic music, and the serenity of his music are revealed through the experience the great people had with the great legend. Kodi Kodi pranamams to all those who have been magnanimous in sharing whatever treasures (video and audio recordings, books, manuscripts, opinions, and so on) they have in the public domain like the KZread🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌👌👌

I am not very knowledgeable on Ragas but I am very fond of MDR's rendering esspecially Dikshidars Divine compositions in divine language.

Beautiful documentary (seeing it again!). The voice over is so lovely, soothing language of Malayalam. I do not know the language (understand a bit), yet, I enjoyed listening to the almost musical diction in the gentleman who was giving the narration!

This genius was not conferred with the coveted title of Sangeetha Kalanidhi by the Mecca of music nay The Music Academy, Madras. So sad to carnatic music and not to MDR.
