I was interested in Weird Wizard but hesitant to back because I saw the sheer amount that was being promised and have been burned before with kickstarters promising a bunch then not ever delivering. Knowing that Rob has a track record for delivering everything steadily, and that he intentionally spreads out his content to keep the game alive makes me much more willing to back the Kickstarter now. Plus, this was just an excellent interview. Good stuff

SotDL has been my personal favorite fantasy TTRPG since I found it, but as I am part of a group that has a lot of GMs it's difficult to find time to play it. I'm hoping I can use Weird Wizard as a way to strongarm them to play more Schwalb games. Thanks for the great interview!

I'm late to watching this. I love Rob's work, and can't wait to get my hands on "Shadow of the Weird Wizard". The KS campaign completed yesterday, with great success.

I’m an amateur goofy guy that twiddles around creating my own systems to play with friends. Things that will never be published. I just want to say I love your work and what you do. I steal lots of ideas from you for inspiration. And I hold you up there with David Zeb Cook, Tom Moldvay, Jeff Grubb and Greg Stafford for people I like the best.

I was so lucky a few years ago to play at Winter Fantasy in a session with Teos, Shawn, Mike Shea and a few others run by Rob Schwalb. He is an amazing DM. It was the best session I have ever played. Shadow of the Demon Lord is fantastic, as was PunkApocolyptic. I am so looking forward to Shadow of the Weird Wizard.

Proud backer of this Kickstarter, thanks to Mastering Dungeons for bringing this one to my attention. From what I have seen so far, the mechanics for this game are clean and well designed. In terms of value for money, man, I cannot believe how much I am going to get from this Kickstarter.

I backed this game and am very looking forward to it but damn it is such a shame Rob fell back on the "all orcs are evil" trope. That feels really alienating. He even has a "basically orcs" player ancestry with the Woodwose. Why not just let the woodwose be orcs and create something new, something that doesn't have all that 1940s racial essentialism baggage to be the always evil bad guys?

We appreciate the Rob has taken the issue into consideration. It isn't how we would go about it, though we would have to see the printed example to really understand the approach. It sounds like orcs in WW aren't "people" the way goblins are, but rather are created by deities as corrupt killing machines. Frankly, there are a lot of issues with almost any blanket presentation of any group that can be peoples, from goblins to kobolds to many newer creations in the latest books for most RPGs. We suspect it will take time for the industry to work through this.
