Beautifully done. I think you should clarify "biasing." It sounds like "favoring," which I assume would be NOT compressing. Is that what you meant?
Thank you.

Is it possible to further damage meniscal injuries if overly rough? I discussed surgery with a surgeon having looked at my MRI (which confirms meniscus tear). They then did a VERY aggressive testing with strong big circles which seems totally excessive to me.
Super helpful, you should have a lot more subscribers, keep it up!

Great video, when you say this is 'byassing' the medial meniscus do you mean we are testing for the medial meniscus?

To my understanding, the force applied on the proximal side (upper hand) is supposed to be in a valgus or varus way, not in a downward push.
@ClinicalPhysio
2 жыл бұрын
Whatever works best for you! The lower hand can provide the change in direction to change the angle for the meniscus… you just have to make sure you provide in enough compression with upper hand
I have a knee injury and looking at that test I would be in excruciating pain if that was tried out on me perhaps it's my meniscus that's damaged, waiting for an appointment with a physio

Hi! That’s ok! This is one of the most important things about this test… it’s used less in practice because it is deemed quite unspecific… it would be painful for many patients regardless of their pathology or problem

Hello Dr.. can we differentiate between red zone vs White zone tear by using McMurray test.
@ClinicalPhysio
11 ай бұрын
Hi Khizar, I would suggest it is probably unlikely to be able to make an accurate estimate of zone of tear based on McMurrays test alone
Is it possible to have medial side clicking in this test without actual meniscal tear?
@ClinicalPhysio
10 ай бұрын
Hi! Most commonly any clicking that occurs can be patellofemoral joint, so be sure to feel with your hands over that joint if clicking is occurring
What about varus/varum position of the knee? Its not important have the knee in that position?

Not necessarily Gabriele, it can be added if you wish but not totally essentials
