Alfred D Cammeyer was born in Long Island in 1861 and
came to England sometime after 1880. By 1900
he had taken over Clifford Essex's workshops in Soho.
Cammeyer’s name appears on banjos made between
1900 - 1939. Cammeyer died in 1949.
