I heard on DDE that when they asked the guys at McLaren "What was the car that they hated making?" they all said it was the Artura, the car they actually liked making was the P1 and the 675LT

@@adknz1131 I mean sure it makes a ton of power and it looks nice but, if you ask me I think it's the car's docile and uninspiring sound. The Artura just isn't as exiting as the older cars like the 600LT

I can believe that, it’s I guess the least McLaren car out of them all and the Hybrid may have well been a total headache to make.

Man, as much I loved my Mclaren GT, it was a rattle box and I wanted to lose my marbles. I recently purchased a Huracan Evo and I have been WAY happier with the reliability, the sound, and the speed. The GT pulled WAY harder but here in America you're going to prison if you're opening it up daily driving to get some sound out of it. The Artura is great, but speaking on the car, they have sooooo many tech issues and are always being serviced. So unfortunate for how beautiful the car is.

I love the design language used for this car. It's the first McLaren I've seen that looks beautiful - to my eye - from every angle. The only exception is the BBQ. I like the buttresses, though. I appreciate your attention to detail with things like the exposed heat shield below the mesh opening. Delightful video, as always, Luke.

I'm so glad spring is here in full force already, this is what I've been missing. If this season you're gonna cook as much as you did in the past month already, it's going to be a phenomenal season. 😄 I don't know if I'm alone on this one but I actually prefer when you shoot at your local roads. This mountain pass is my type of road as this is the most mountain pass type of road I can find here in southeastern Poland and I honestly love twisty forest drives. Really fantastic job on colour grading this one, that purple is easily visible and the video still has your usual colours. It is a really pretty, tidy spec. As for the Artura itself - sadly a bit too boring, even considering it's meant to be more of a daily driving friendly supercar. Feels odd to hear a car in 2024 with not even a slightest pop from the exhaust.

In the beginning for me i thought the design was not so good, but literally through the video it grew on me, I was thinking of the day where I would be driving one of those on that kind of roads no city just countryside me and my dog or me and my spouse! Pure Blisss!

Great car. I’ve owned a 570S and the Artura is next on my list. Just put an exhaust on it and the Artura is complete. Porsche 911 exhaust has even less of a sound, but no one hesitates to buy that because of the sound.

That just looks right 💪👌

I’m a huge McLaren fan but I see the Artura as an amazing $95,000.00 car depreciated and when all the glitches are sorted. Considered one after my 600LT but after driving it, although fast and sharp. It just lacked in many other ways. For the same money, I’ll take a 997 GT3 RS

If you watch the Frank Stephenson documentary 'chasing perfect' which is excellent BTW so you should. Frank talks about how much he detests the mesh on mclarens too but how they ate required under legislation 😕 Keep up the great work 👍🏻

They definitely look better in real life and in brighter colours, I live near the factory in the UK and see lots of the cars in different colours. All press cars should be colourful in my opinion.

I feel like both the Artura and the MC20 don't sound as good as their performance and looks suggest. That said, somehow Ferrari have made the 296 sound fantastic for a V6!

Maybe rare in Switzerland, I saw 2 of them together, one behind the other one (close German number plates) parked on Sylt, 2 weeks ago :)

I think that silver bit you see through the small grille is a heat shield. Yeah the sound of this car is too muted for its cost. What was that you mixed with the coffee at the end ?

Hard to justify the pricetag of the McLaren, considering the overall build quality. Porsche seems to give so much more better value for money. But good to have variety in the world. Hoping to see your dog more in future videos :))

Don’t complain about the build quality until you see one. Vastly improved over a 570 or 720

I don't think I have seen a brand new car depreciate as much as the Artura. Its scary what

im a bit dissapointed in mclaren, the purposely held this car back, it couldve easily been more powerful, but the deliberately kept under the 720s

When "Pagani Utopia Coffee Run!" ?

I think a lot of car keys look really weird and cheap now and are way too big. Why can't they make like a key that looks like an apple airtag. A trunk open, unlock and lock would still fit. The key doesn't need to be any bigger than the chip battery anymore and in the car you already have to use a button to start. Nowhere for the key to go. Would fit a lot better in your pockets and on keychains + if you have mulitple cars also a lot easier. You could even make a cool start sequence with a chip as a key. To insert it kinda like a slot machine or something. Or use like a credit card shape as an alternative, bmw does it I think. Don't have lock unlock etc, but with keyless go handles it still unlocks for you. The choice would be cool

It is believed that electric vehicles will become outdated in just four years, especially in terms of technological advancements. While there has been a significant push towards battery technology, many still prefer traditional options. Despite the excitement surrounding fast electric cars, it does match as the Zonda or V12 Lambo, it produced more excitement , and on the mass while electric seems to have diminished compared to previous times.

Yet to see one on UK roads either. Maybe not taken off as there’s better options for the money?

I got one as a courtesy car when my car went in for service. Main complaint wasn't that it's boring when pushing revs, but that it DRONES so badly when driving normally. The 720S is far more quiet when cruising around in comfort mode. Honestly kinda killed the whole "daily driver" aspect of the car for me.

I love McLaren, but I feel this car was make to tick the hybrid box rather than made for any real purpose. Kind of a pointless car. I don't really know who this was targeted at... 😔

Interesting, yet useless fact. The Arthua is made in Sheffield UK.

That's the the thing about the Artura , it's kinda forgettable styling wise as Supercars go. Drive's like a Supercar but then the v6 biturbo doesn't sound good compared to the 296 gtb......7/10

It just seems like for the money a person would get a 600LT over the Artura.

It's a cool car. But I am just not big on the looks of most McLaren cars. Not my favorite. I'm sure it has great performance, though.

Luke's underwhelming response says everything about this car. Not saying it's bad, but it's just not for petrolheads.
