In this video, I detail my recent fines at our local McKays bookstore location. If you haven’t been to one of their stores before, it is a seemingly never ending source of books and physical media for extreme discount prices. If you ever have the chance to go to one, you certainly should… Although be prepared to have a completely filled car trunk before you know it. 
I like to challenge myself to just spend about an hour or so to try and limit my purchases so I don’t go overboard. So I created the mckays challenge: try to find as much in books, printed material, music, gear, and physical media as you can for under $10 and spend an hour or less. 
This is what I turned up this time: from book series, biographies to more obscure DVDs and even a MOD Blu-ray.

Sorry for the random comment, but I need to talk about this. They are releasing His Girl Friday on 4K blu-ray, but only as part of the Columbia Classics Collection Volume 4. While the movie itself has been public domain for a long time, due to Columbia failing to renew its copyright back in the 1960s, the play upon which the film is based on was still copyrighted, and that’s how Sony has been able to fight off releases of the film from others. But the original play is from 1928. What that means is that it is now public domain too! There is nothing keepiny anyone from ripping the UHD and upload the whole film online in full 4K blu-ray quality. Not to mention boutique labels releasing a standalone 4K blu-ray of His Girl Friday! I genuinely think Sony didn’t realize this.
When I was living in Nashville in 2014-2015 I was hitting the McKay's there regularly for media, mainly clearance CDs, but also books and rare movies on DVD. I hit the Chattanooga location once on a summer trip there during the music festival on the river. Those stores are real wonderlands for physical media junkies. I always had tons of free credit from trade-ins so I rarely spent any actual money there.
