Mchunu says more needs to be done to address water issues in SA

Water and Sanitation Minister, Senzo Mchunu, has told the UN Water Conference in New York that while the country had made progress in bringing water and sanitation services to citizens, far more still needs to be done. The country faces water stress related to the impacts of climate change and poor management of water infrastructure and poor maintenance. This has led to problems with pollution and water loss, further exacerbated by rolling blackouts, and a lack of capacity, particularly at the municipal level.
