dougie didn't have a chip on his shoulder, he said it in the documentary, that there have been so many problems within the band that they didn't bother addressing that he needed a break to reset and to figure things out. things were just strained in the band and i'm sure that for someone who deals with stress and confrontation by falling back on alcohol and drugs, it would've been a bad environment for him to be in

Dougie moved in with Tom and Giovanna after rehab so they could be there 24/7 and that's when they started working on the books together. I think it was Toms way of stepping in and helping Dougie move forward.

McFly are actual legendsssss...it's interesting to see this been a fan for years

I think my first awareness of McFly was in 2008 or 2009 via a fan-made video shipping two characters on a German soap opera. The song used in the video was The Heart Never Lies.

Also a quick breakdown on how McBusted happened: James Bourne (rhythm guitarist/pianiat/vocalist) of Busted wrote a lot of McFly songs (alongside many other artists and his credits are pretty impressive) when Busted were disbanded. Due to this he often tagged along on tours to write with them and one gig they talked him into playing a couple of songs. The video of that is actually on KZread. The crowd went absolutely insane which was not expected as by that point Busted hasn’t been together for 8/9 years. After this James reached out to Matt Willis (bassist/vocalist) and was raving about it. It’s unclear who brought the idea up but someone suggested they join together and play a few songs at the Royal Albert Hall gig which marked 10 years of McFly and again the crowd went ballistic. After this their manager saw an opening and they decided to do a “small” tour…which sold out…in a few minutes. In short something like 25 extra dates were added and it ALL sold out.

They didn’t explain it too well, hopefully this helps. Tom auditioned for Busted, and made the original lineup. It consisted of three guitarist, and one bassist. After 24 hours the manager realised it wouldn’t work and dropped Tom. However, Tom was already writing songs for Busted with another member James so Busted’s management kept him around. The same management then wanted to create an all singing and dancing boy band. Tom was asked to help out by videoing and taking photos. Danny, being a loveable idiot got confused and thought they were setting up another Busted type band so showed up to the audition with a guitar. The manager saw something in Danny and asked Tom to work with him, they clicked and the rest is Mcfly legend.

Love these 4 lads, for around 20YRS！！

Universal was putting together a boy band similar to Back Street boys/NSync etc. Danny missed that part, went with his guitar and sand bittersweet symphony by the Verve. Tom was there recording the auditions and that's how they met!

Wheat they had from day one is a very rare thing, and it doesn't happen often. this is why they will always be together.

Busted and mcfly are still very close friends they dueted again on the recent busted album
