The first Superman McFarlane put out had one of the best Superman headsculpts there’s ever been and it still holds up today. Weird that they’ve regressed in that regard.

This head sculpt does match up with the Hush version of Superman. He's got that squinty eyed look in the comic.

That hairline is a sin. He was never represented like that in the comic. Everything about this guy screams TDKR Superman.

Actually in one comic superman was giant with a big head to represent his ailen identity

I wish instead of the large art on back, Todd would do the series pics of figures currently out or about to come out like they did in the 90s.

I have one and I love it. The skin tone is the only thing that bothers me. The first 3-4 days I had it in front of my TV and every time I looked over at it I'd notice the Superman and say to my self "Is that Bizarro? No. He's not on display. That's Superman!" His extra pale skin and angular facial features really remind me of the old school Bizarro, tho! LOL!

Same. A mix of hush and page punchers would be perfect cause they both have things I don't like. Maybe gonna swap the heads and see.... who knows....

With Todd having an art background I always expect more from him whenever he has a figure based on a certain artist or style. You should be able to look at this Supes and instantly what he’s based on but instead it’s just a generic Superman. Nothing about him says “Hush”

I'm ok with stylized (similar to Amazing Yamagichu) but since they are marketing/drawing people by specifying the version, they should make that version (we are familiar enough with the Mcfarlane DNA on these figures that even if they make good copies of the source materials we won't mistake as coming from a different toy company). On the other hand, I think the Page Punchers Superman has the better body - would need changes on the cape, hands, and color.

Looks like Mr. Incredible cosplaying as Superman 😂

I sill haven't seen what I would consider a definitive Batman and Superman from McFarlane.

Hush Batman and knight fall Batman r definitely pretty close to “definitive” Plus the Arkham knight is good for an “armored” batman

Action Comics 1000 is definitely the definitive Superman.

I think modern collectors prefer their comic book figure to look more realistic with their proportions and faces. I would prefer for it to have more comic proportions but I’m okay with the face tach they use for the comic figure. People really like the face tech hasbro has and I enjoy for some figures, like that 20 years Rogers head looks great with the face tech. People are leading more this style of figure because generally looks better than in the past for most people (in reference to Toybiz wired proportions and doll like paint applications on some of those old figures for the face from Toybiz and Hasbro.) People look at it has a upgrade with is half true. People don’t seem to like McFarlane much because of their non normal human proportions, their trying to have those comic proportions on their figures (with sometimes being hilarious, those Catwomen buns don’t lie)

It’s close. The logo doesn’t stretch out too far like their first Superman and he has bigger shoulders. The suit colors look nice and I’m glad they added the logo on the back. With that said, there’s still some weirdness with this guy. He still has soft looking arms and legs and weird leg proportions. He also still has those giant ring cuffs which make no sense and I hate them. Once they make a classic Superman with more muscle definition and no weird things like panel lining and cuffs, then I’ll bite.

I think you might like the Page Punchers Superman then and thats if you like the head sculpt and more muted colors ,oh and the oversized hands lol.

Page punchers superman goes great with the Batman from rebirth. Those dark colors of his outfit is a hold back for sure but I've been using him as a display figure. Maybe a mix of hush and page punchers would be perfect? 🤷 sure am glad I didn't buy bizarro or other hush superman and just have this one.

I'm really getting tired of McFarlane figures not matching the artwork and people not caring

I liked the figure at first but started to love it once I got him in a pose I like , my gripes are pretty much the same ,except the skin tone doesnt bother me.

I was looking forward to this figure a lot before he came out. He looked like he was gonna possibly be the definitive mcfarlane Superman figure,but now,in hand,he looks too much like a corpse or a vampire

I agree it's an awful pale skin tone , but I think this is one of the better Mcfarlane Superman figures 😕

i think i prefer a more lean Reeve-esque physique for Supes. it doesn't really make sense to make him look like a body builder. he isn't strong because of his workout routine. he's a solar fusion reactor in a cape.

Anthony, could you do a review on the Fighting the frozen caveman Batman? I don't have it yet but it honestly looks sweet. It looks well proportioned (if a bit he-man style exaggerated) and well textured. It even has skin texture!

If the face weren't so ugly, would have been somewhat a great superman. It fits the frank miller style but yeah.. Yeah.....a shame.

I think they need a new Superman body mold, they've been re-using it for the Superman vs Doomsday, 85th anniversary and Superman Action Comics #1, it doesn't fit all those eras of Superman, specially the "Collector Edition" which was a lazy repaint with the same sculpted boots

mcfarlane's flight stand seems to be designed for marvel legends, it works really with them

this was an awesome review of the new Bizzaro figure.

The skin tone grew on me quick. I had the same thoughts. Love this guy

Mcfarlane has released like 6 superman figures recently and all of them stink.

@@PM-oq8dg Yeah mcfarlane could be awesome with all the original sculpts they make but they mess something up most of the time.

My current main superman is the cape arms legs and stomach of this superman with the chest of the atomic skull 2 pack. The colors are so close to a match it doesn't need adjustment. Currently waiting on a figure with hands to swap out I've heard movie Shazam is the best pick

The figure comes with a stand. A flying stand as is. Something that most companies don´t include. Heck, even McFarlane has stopped including it with their flight characters. So I don´t see a reason to complain because it includes it.

The issue is not that it includes a stand, it's the stand not being great and not really be able to support the figure that well partly because of the sculpt. You can get it to work but there's much better stands out there.

This body looks like they took the animated series Superman and tried to make it realistic looking

For the price he's good but does have its issues the wrong blue and the skin really bugs me on mine 🤦🏻‍♂️

I love the colors, but hate the receding hairline. The cape is pretty bad too. Hard to believe McFarlane actually approved this design. Would be nice to be able to choose from a selection of different head sculpts that were already pre-painted to match this release. I've seen some really fantastic Superman head sculpts being sold online, but you either have to paint them yourself, or it's not clear if they're compatible with McFarlane.

The mafex was also super pale, so maybe they knew what they were doing but they went too pale

I bought the figurine with great regret, the colors and articulation are great but I don't like Ps. At all its old crusty head and the articulation of the wrists are much too visible, I sold it at a loss and I 'wait for the mafex in normal and black suit as well as the 2 revoltech... To see... He looks like human Shrek from Shrek 2. I really don't like this body for Superman, Mcfarlane has better molds for Superman like the dark knight version or that page punchers one, this one has a really weird torso with a puffed up chest, and it doesn't look anything like hush superman.

I am a huge Superman fan. Especially in his classic costume. (I have checked) the perfect Superman figure simply does not exist. DCUC has not aged well, Icons looks like Rob Lowe, Essentials has gorilla arms, and Mcfarlane is too bulbous. Mafex got close but, the yellows are too pale and the expression is too grumpy. No single company can hold the rights to Superman long enough to iron out all the kinks. They always put him out in the first wave when they are still in their infancy because they know he will sell. Which is why the best Superman action figure is Kenner Super Powers.

Pretty good figure, but still flawed. Some serious customizing has to be done to make this figure near perfect. This has very little pros and too many cons.

not that I really buy McFarlane stuff anymore but I wish they'd put the art behind the figure in the box would be so much better, then put pictures of the figure on the back it'd make so much more sense.

This seems to be one of the few McFarlane figs that has stubby legs. Like usually the legs seem stupid long. This one looks too stubby. And why do 95% of his figures look bull legged? I only ever bought 3 Todd Figs and threw them all away. I will never understand how anyone is a crazy fan of this line. I'm talking about those fans that just orgasm over every release. Not all you who do enjoy some of these figures. I hope another company can do DC figures justice someday. The only ones I will buy are Mafex when it comes to DC.

Yes, the skin color makes him look like sick Superman and the face is not helping as he looks very skinny, like his life has been sucked out of him hahah The colors in the suit are cool when they're bright like in this case but I also like darker tones.

That is the worst head sculpt I've ever seen from McFarlane and there have been some stinkers like Peacemaker Unmasked and Bloodsport Unmasked. For a Superman figure Todd should've put more of an effort imo.

I really dislike this Superman. Facesculpt is bad and not accurate, hairline is all kinds of messed up and the legs are too short and stubby. It's like a Frankenstein of a bad impression of Jim Lee's and Frank Miller's art. McFarlane is capable of doing decent Superman figures, but this ain't it.
