✈ McDonnel Douglas MD500E Flight from London Southend to Paglesham

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello and welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!
Taking a short flight to Paglesham in the MD500E from London Southend Airport! The McDonnel Douglas MD500E (Also referred to as the Hughes 369E) is a 4 seat civilian helicopter based off the Hughes OH-6. The helicopter may be familiar to some as the "Little Bird" a nickname given for the attack helicopter in video games.
Multiple variants of the MD500 have been produced both for the civil and military market. This ride was taken in a 1991 MD500E (369E) which has been based at London Southend for roughly a year along with G-HUKA. The 500E was the first model to have the re designed nose which is now featured on the 520N, 530F(FF) and the larger 600N, as well as later military variants.
The MD500 series all use the Rolls-Royce Allison 250 turboshaft engine, one of the most successful power plants in the helicopter world. N369E is fitted with a Model 250-C20B, rated at 420 shaft horsepower (310kW).
As for the flight, we started up on taxiway Charlie before departing RWY 23 via Bravo. The we banked right heading towards Paglesham, a quick 5 minute in total.
Hope you enjoy!

@@HollywoodConnection-JAST I used to refuel Jet Rangers and Augusta 109's a lot during the 1980's/90's. I loved the smell of jet exhaust then and now! I also hated to have to wash out my overalls.....the feint smell of Jet A1 clinging to them at the end if the week was rather good! (People just think I'm weird! 🤣)

Was this temporarily set up for right seat pilot or is it permanently like that? I thought the 500 usually had pilot left seat. The left collective looked basic and I presume the left side person was the passenger (filming and feet off pedals)
