Just heard that since more new Rotem cab cars and coaches continue to come in, the MBTA doesn’t have any need for the MBB blinds that recently returned from their lease in Connecticut, but it states on the NETransit webpage or vehicle inventory page under Commuter Rail “At Kinki Sharyo for overhaul: (5 Blind Trailer Coaches): 525-prep for service, 529-prep for service, 1500, 1519, 1523-(1500s to be renumbered 539, 541 and 542). Those three blinds have been out there since Christmas 2019 and they’re still not back in Boston, something’s wrong here, maybe NETransit’s vehicle inventory page is all messed up. Also, blinds 525 and 529 are still listed as in testing and they returned to Boston in mid-October 2022. Two things: maybe NETransit completely forgot about those two or maybe testing is taking a lot longer than expected due to ongoing issues. They’ve never returned to service since coming back nearly two years ago at this point.

Looking back on this video, this really was the glory days of the northside. 5-6 MBB cab cars running at once, and 2Cs galore. Now were stuck with no 2Cs and 1-2 MBB cab cars :(

Not even one hsp seen in a nearly 15-minute video. Probably MBTA wanted its older EMD power to attract rail fans like you, of course instead of their ugly newer MPI power, just my guess.
