Great video. I love these boys. I know that this was a bit but it is also an important reminder that keto is an incredibly dangerous and unhealthy diet for like 99% of people and really should only be used on a doctor's recommendation. It shouldn't be considered a weight loss tool and is considered to be ineffective even as that. It is not sustainable and coming off it often causes rapid weight gain. Influencer's who push keto diets are often financially motivated to do so. Eating healthy is just about getting the nutritional value you need and having reasonable portion sizes. Sure sometimes we have a too much carbs or sugar or anything else in our diet... But the solution is not a highly restrictive diet that excludes the majority of the average persons diet. Be cautious with any fad diet or extreme diet. Keto is both.

I'd have to disagree that keto style diets are unhealthy and/or ineffective. I've been on Atkins(probably the original keto diet) for seven months now and have managed to lose over 30lbs and I've honestly never felt better. I have hypothyroidism so it's hard to lose weight. I don't restrict myself like crazy, I don't count macros or whatever else it is that hardcore keto dieters seem to do, I just eat healthier by cutting out excess carbs/processed food and sugar. I think there's an impression that keto means just fats and meats and very little healthy food, but I eat fairly normally: big salads, chicken with veggies, strawberries and Greek yogurt, I used nut flours to make a lot of baked goods like coconut cream pie or muffins. Although I will say there does seem to be a lot of keto dieters(at least online) who take it to the extreme when it comes to counting and restricting and never eating anything slightly higher in carbs like a carrot because it'll throw them out of ketosis. That's unrealistic in the long run. I still treat myself to actual pasta and processed food once in a while for a treat. But the fact is a lot of processed food in North America is loaded with sugar and that's probably the worst thing for you. Even things you might think are healthy like flavored yogurt or granola bars, breads etc. We consume way too much of it, even without really meaning to.

@@babyhilts What you're describing is just lowering your carb intake. That's been a tried and true pillar of most diets since, like... early 1900s. That's not a keto diet. Keto dieting is on the other end of a wide chasm made of charts, in a strange land where an apple is death but a fried chicken dipped in mayo is a healthy breakfast.

    Is Keto just rebranded ketosis??

The keto diet is about controlling the ketosis state to burn fat instead of carbs and sugars. You wanna slowly ease into it and let your body aclimate and then come out for refuels periods If you go too long you do turn into garfield tho

Yes as was "Atkins" and many other dangerous fad diets. There are far better and safer ways to control your food intake. This diet should only be done by the tiny number of people who suffer from specific illnesses that make this diet necessary. Sawbones did a good episode on it. People who are into keto have a habit of understating the risks of it. It is kinda culty in all honesty and is a massive cash machine for con artists selling books and retreats. Pointing this out can get you in a lot of hot water with the sycophants who claim it to be a cure-all miracle level diet. Be very careful with keto. It has hospitalised thousands of Americans. Also intermittent fasting has started to overtake it in these con circles which is just as bad. People literally selling starvation as a weight loss tool. The fad diet industry is shameless and cares only about profits.

The healthfully recommended way of eating is honestly kind of rad (but hard for me to do because of forgetfulness) : it’s just several small meals instead of few huge complicated ones and they can basically be like healthy snack situations... a serving of veggies and hummus and some eggs and boom that’s valid. Just a couple hours later and you want some fruit, a couple slices of cheddar, and like a pouch of tuna? Go for it. I love these foods. I just suck at remembering to put them into my mouthface
