Mbenji Is. - The Complete Fish Tour - The Lake Malawi Experience #9

The videos in this part are from March 2018. We where at Mbenji Is. in five days, and lived on one of the islands. No sand or dirt, but with our tent on the rocky surface.
In this part I take you on a journey from Red Zebra Lodge (SMG) to Mbenji Is. where we:
1. Approach the islands: 1:15
2. Showing our camp: 1:40
3. Catching fish: 2:43
- Catching fuelleborni MC: 5:58
- Catching zebra MC: 7:37
- Catching zebra MC: 8:26
- Catching zebra O female: 9:53
- Catching zebra O male!: 10:11
4. Loading the fish on to the boat: 11:29
5. Show some of the catch: 12:43
6. Lift the fish from boat to fishhouse: 13:27
7. Fish in fishhouse: 15:49
8. Taking the fish to ponds: 17:33
9. Home in my tank: 18:31

    It has been a dream of mine for almost 40 years to visit Lake Malawi.at least with your videos I can see what it really looks like. I hope I can get there some day. Please post more if you have the footage.

    Thats the first Footage of Mbenji Island Underwater we can see in fullrange. Hopefully we see the next time a lot more of the Zebra Mbenji in his natural space! :)

    Why are no women allowed on Mbenji Is.? Is it because of the culture or is it because of no bathroom facilities?

    David Patton Because it is a fisherman Island in season and filled with fishing boats. They settle down and catching Usipa around the islands. They say it means bad luck, if women are entering the Island - like a custom.

    How is it possible that the "complete" fish tour only shows cichlids? I thought it was going to be cool.
