Yeah straight up dont buy 19K RX8s thats just a waste esp that the engine WILL STILL drop dead eventually. If you're canadian, you're in great luck. RX8s are the cheapest in the world here and except for an engine rebuild, most of the time they're in decent condition. Buy an S1, modify to you heart's contempt and you can get the looks and the performance of the R3 for a fraction of the cost.

I passed on a 2011 R3 39,000km for $15,000 CND. Lost so much sleep I bought a 2006 Shinka Copper Mica Red with 101,000km for $5,900 CND. Going to buy a reman and get it built by next year. NO REGRETS!

Waiting for a review on this forgotten gem! I have my r3 for 3 years now. The handling is so dam good, I take off ramps with so much speed and confidence it's great! Dipping through traffic is like an obstacle course in this thing! I will definitely keep mine til the end! Then a rebuild will be even more fun😊

I love my R3!!! Drove 3 hours just to get mine after my S1 got rear ended and my insurance totalled it out. I see a few S1 and S2 but never any R3s

im Getting a Shinka in a couple month, r3 are nice cars with better seat and handling, but for me a shinka fits perfect for me we are both rare and she has 69kilo((Nice) )(42874 miles), only a rusty wing to change and i got the forgestar aluminum wheel + the original wheel coming with it, I can't stop thinking of it, it drives like a smooth silk quality tier 1 :D

From what I know, R3 have a lot of changes compared to previous models. New injections of oil, new alternator, new pumps and so on. List is quite long.

@DinoRexGamingHD I used to drive a Chevy Volt. So I was in the 100+mpg club. I want to modify my RX8 in such a way that my mpg and reliability go up. 🤞 I want the highest mpg RX8 on earth. 😄 Easier said than done, but I'm gonna try something different. It'll be fun!

I think exactly the same, in my eyes this way too similar to 2009 Mazda 3 front, so it is less exotic and looks more mundane

I drove the R8 and my series 1 on the track last weekend, big difference! The Recaro seats are superior on the track but i find them uncomfortable on the street, too restrictive if you know what I mean for a daily.

I don't know what problems I have with the Recaro brand but I don't like them.

Used to have a 2010 r3 in white. Miss it but got rid of it due to kids lol don't miss the gas mileage though lol

The gearbox in the R3 will be newer than your series 1, so that's why the gear lever will feel smoother.

That's a beautiful car! Any plans on modding it in the future?

I would love to own the R3 rx8 in a few years time and I'll get the engine to race spec and get a wide body kit to look like the Gran Turismo concept lm RX8 lol and still have it street legal lol.

I got one here, my advice get them before they get all crashed or ruined..happening more and more down here in FL :/ and they are very hard to find

Still have my 2010 R3, 103k on the original engine

I have a 2010 GT and I would miss the sunroof and I don't like the wing. I guess the seats, wheels and the suspension are plusses.

R3 owner here, the speakers are actually great, ive owned the original rx8 and these hit way harder and have no issues digging deep. midrange is a bit lacking though. The only issue is that the 9 inch door speakers actually shake the door panel at high volumes, so you need to install some sound deadening material to sort that out.

I really don't care about speakers as long as they have a heavy bass.

I have the exact car,color,and year. Im already at 101k miles and the only problems i had were coils, and the damn car getting flooded.

Maybe S2 and specially R3 is better, but your S1 is a lot more beautiful.

To bad you can't test a 192bhp 5 speed with 'sport' suspension like the EU, Australia and Japan got. The 192bhp engine has more torque and the 5 speed came out off the RX7FD. I prefer the feel from the 5 speed over the 6 speed. Thanks for the upload :) .

Really 5 speed and 192 feels better than 6 speed and 231? Cuz i am looking for rx-8 and I was sure that 231 will be much better.

@@hullak5298 Drive both and decide which one you prefer. The only reason I would choose the 6 port over the 4 port (6 speed vs 5 speed) is the rev limiter. But you can increase the rev limiter on a 5 speed to approx 8200rpm if you like (even more).

i hate that the front grill has that blocked line in the middle

Please don't Bridgeport a Renesis. It does nothing but mess with your idle. Only port polishing is required if not using FI.

Man I have heard that r3 has 2 squarters that throw oil into housing so that you have to be less worry about premix

I had a 2009 r3 in blue that I got for $10,000 with 71k miles and R.I.P. I only had it for about 3 months when a drunk driver ran me off the road. Caused $10k in damages. 😪

What’s a R3?

In my opinion S2 and S2 R3 looks a bit worse than the S1, the uniqueness was lost a bit because the front looks like a lot like a 2009 Mazda 3. The release model 2003-2009 was so unique looking from other models of the brand and obvioulsly, very different from anything else on the road

Same maintenance issues as the series 2 ?

Having owned both an 09 R3 and currently an 04 GT, I like the GT better: for only 2 reasons. Sunroof and better seats, everything else the R3 was better.

A series 2 Sport will be faster as it weighs less. There is very little difference in the R3 for performance.

@@tatianapanea7565 most people arent doing top speed runs to work either. Except you will be turning way more heads in an R3 and have more features. Get an R3 or a GT if you want an RX-8 and dont plan on gutting it.

@@threadworm437 Most people unless they have owned a RX-8 won't even notice the difference. If it had say 250 HP it would be a different story. It is basically a vehicle with more plastic panels added to it. Not worth the extra cost.

The thing i most hate about the EU is the climate dillusion trip, they're on. I'm not a denier, i just think that electric cars are even worse for the environment in the long run. The energy density of a battery will never be as high as in a liquid fuel. And you can make liquid fuel out of pretty much any plant. It's solar power, from a self building powerplant. The environmental friendly thing to do would be to give everybody a 3 rotor Wankel that runs on alcohol.

R3 looks like 😃 and the 1st gen looks like 😡

Such a shame they destroyed whole rotary concept by introducing this 13-RE engine. Beside that you must do lots of improvements to make it more reliable (sohn adapter, coils, cooling) it just lack turbo. Every time I ride my rx8 I just feel it needs it. And it's not possible to add it since they moved exhaust ports
