MAZDA CX-9 CX9 COOLANT IN OIL ANTIFREEZE IN OIL
► Water Pump: amzn.to/2IkkvW9
► Timing Chain Kit ( Recommended to replace): amzn.to/2FRlsSR
In this video we will explain what could cause coolant to leak in the oil on Mazda CX-9 CX9 with 3.5 or 3.7 engine. It is a common problem to see coolant in oil on Mazda CX-9 CX9 with high miles. This same engine is used in Ford Edge that's why the video was made on Ford Edge but the procedure to fix the coolant in the oil problem on Mazda CX-9 CX9 3.5 or 3.7 engine is the same.

102k on my 2008 CX-9 GT and it has been the perfect vehicle. OK, not perfect. One rear shock started leaking. Not bad for 11 years and 102k miles. Front wheel drive model as I avoided awd with the Ford Edge transfer case. But seriously considering selling my CX9 over this issue. I have the original FL22 coolant and am scared to even change the coolant in the event it causes the pump gasket to fail. I love this car, love the motor but this water pump business is seriously messed up. Should I just do a new pump myself? Sit the car in the garage for awhile perhaps... Decisions

I was thinking about buying a Mazda 2011 GT with 69,000 miles should I change the water pump and timing chain?

Guys, is this timing kit and water pump compatible with 2016 Mazda CX-9 3.7L ? Are those parts interchangeable for cyclone engines 3.5 and 3.7 ?

My mazda cx9 2008 300,000 km mileage. The route is 4 km. The check engine light comes on. It stops for 15 minutes. I'm moving on. Everything works fine, engine shows no temperature increase. Another 2km I hear the cooling fan, after a while again. I turn off the engine, I don't know what's going on. The temperature does not exceed 90⁰C. The engine ran completely silent. There is no fluid under the hood. Mud on the cork. The oil dipstick shows 2-3 liters above the good condition of the oil. The car is at the mechanic now. In a few days I will want to change the water pump and timing belt. Clean the oil pan and valve covers. 2 oil changes and engine flush. I hope I didn't damage the engine. I was driving very slowly. What do you think? Any chance the engine isn't dead?

Hey, I have a question. I am thinking about buying a 2008 mazda cx9 from this guy. He said the car slowly lost power and died. He took it to a shop and the said oil and coolant got mixed up and the engine got shot. Do you think it's worth trying replacing the water pump? Or it's completely shop because its just a garbage?

The fact that it was driven to the point of losing power and dying is very concerning. If you catch the problem as soon as it starts and stop driving immediately, the best case scenario is a ~2-3k bill to replace the water pump (or a multi day project for a DIYer). If it’s driven to the point of losing power and dying, there’s likely engine damage which means you’ll be replacing the whole engine which is many thousands of dollars at a shop and a very ambitious project which will require many special tools if you do it DIY. Used engines are pretty plentiful so it’s likely cheaper to put in a used engine rather than buy a brand new one. If you do the engine replacement option with a used engine, I’d recommend having the water pump changed before the new engine is installed, especially if it already has a lot of miles on it. It’s far easier to do the water pump job if the engine is already out of the vehicle.

dzungalas I don’t know the actual price but I do know that it will cost you well over a thousand dollars at the shop. The part is not expensive but man it is just the labor because you basically have to tear half of the engine apart just to get to it. I like the engine itself but man what a horrible engineer design for the water pump. Smh. You have to weight in if it worth it for the amount of money it gonna cost you. Unless you do it yourself but keep in mind that it does take a lot of work and time.

Also forgot to tell you that if too much coolant mix in with the engine oil and does further damage to the engine, there go your engine too. I really wish ford would’ve designed it better.
