Hey guys, in this video we show you how to remove and replace serpentine belt on Mazda CX-7 CX7 2.3 Turbo Disi Engine. We decided to show you how to remove and replace the serpentine belt while we were doing engine replacement so we had room to shoot a good video with the camera. If the engine is in the engine bay it is very limited room. We demonstrated how to remove and replace the serpentine belt on this 2009 MAZDA CX-7. Some models might differ.

to anyone doing this with the engine actually in the car. you need to make sure the belt size is EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY the same length as the OEM one you take off. chances are you ordered the WRONG belt even though you think you ordered the right one. so triple check the length. For this configuration, even a 5mm difference will make it impossible to put the new belt on. secondly, DO NOT try to release the tension from the bottom. There is simply not enough room AND you can actually destroy the tensioner. it needs to be released from the top clockwise because it will pull the tensioner UP at the same time. doing it from the bottom from the right side just pushes it to the left. I used a 14 mm wrench and a belt extension tool for leverage. you will need as much rotation as possible - all the way until the tool hits the engine mount. just watch out for the AC line. also use the wider pulley at the top without the teeth that is closer to the front (not the idler pulley) to slip the belt on. hope that helps.

Every manufacturer of belts has a different size. Look it up. Continental 90.5 // AC Delco 91// Duralast 91.11// Valucraft 90.55. Make sure youre getting the right size!

Hey are you using a 6pk2315 belt? I am in Australia. Gates listed 6pk2285 but it's way too short. Dayco listed 6pk2290 for an auto and 6pk2315 for manual transmission.

hi there. thanks for all these helpful video. Does the CX7 have a recurrent misfire problem? i have a misfire on cylinder #3 that i can not fix. not the coils and spark plugs, not the valve cover gasket. i am left with compression and injectors. compression i found is as follow #1- 160; #2-160; #3-125 (the misfiring cylinder) nd #4-160PSI. what do you think? any suggestion? do you have a video on the injectors? before i conclude the piston needs to be replaced, i need to check the injector on #3. thanks for reading

I can help you with this problem , pull out all the spark plugs and inspect the porcelain, when the porcelain cracks, you get a code and the engine will misfire, 2nd the coils also can give you a misfire , I have changed the plugs uredinium 3 times on my Mazda cx-7

thank you for your time to make this video. However, the issue shown that he had a hard time trying to put the belt on is a noob technique. you shouldn't try to put the belt on the toothed wheel since it has a lip it's harder to over come it, instead all you gotta do Is slide the piece of the belt on any of the non toothed pulleys that's how you make that installation easy peasy.
