Good video, simple and straightforward. I had to use a wrench instead of the ratchet because my Mazda 6 was even tighter. Without your video, I wouldn't have had a clue. Saved me a lot of money. Thank you.

I would highly recommend if you are changing the serpentine belt that you also change the water pump belt as it is in behind the serpentine belt and if you need to change the water pump belt later you'd have to remove and re-install the serpentine belt to do it. Chances are if 1 belt is worn out the other is not far behind. Also if you are relacing serpentine belt you should also replace the belt tensioner. Almost always if the belt needs to be replaced the tensioner has lost a lot of its tensioning ability which means your new serpentine belt will wear dramatically faster than the original did. Tensioners for most cars are not an expensive item. A lot of places sell kits with both belts and a tensioner

It was questioning your methods, then saw a Fram oil filter and gave up on it. Just wanted a quick look at OEM control arm so it worked for that. Thanks for the vid, you need to really pay more attention to your filter and oil with that motor though, they grenade very quickly if you cheap out.

Mazda recommends synthetic media oil filters and synthetic oil on all Skyactiv motors. So The orange can of death is not going to cut it.

i have a '15 3 2.0l and the socket size for the hexagon is 18mm and i can fit a socket on it from underneath with an extended handle like you shown. This is good information for when it is time to change the coolant belt too. I wish there were more videos about the coolant pump type and location but most of the coolant videos Ive seen are for the 2012s the previous generation doesn't match this one.

Is a worn belt the reason for a slight whine when the engine is running?

hi, so i have a 2013 mazda 3 skyactiv 2.0 L if i need to change the serpentine belt, do i have to change or cut or do anything other than what you just showed ( loosen the tensioner and just replace the belt ? i'm sorry if this is a dumb question but literally this would be my 2nd job ever on a car after a basic oil change
