She is the East Asian Boddhisatva of compassion and mercy. It is said her 11 faces and thousand hands seek out those who need her guidance. She's the feminine reincarnation of Avalokiteshvara in India. The Boddhisatva were once human beings. Instead of achieving Nirvana, they refused it and return to this world to help all sentient life be free from despair and pain.

I also think that both this Asian group and the Mayas performed beautifully!!!! Thank you for sharing such exquisite talent

Btw Nadim (the choreographer of Mayyas) said in Arabs' Got Talent before their first performance that their performance is a mix of Chinese ancient dance mixed with Arabic choreography so he did give credit and say that they're inspired by someone else. However he said that only in Arabs' got talent and in Arabic.

I like the balance and symmetry of their dance. It's an artwork itself!

They have said that THE DANCE IS A MIXTURE BETWEEN THE CHINESE AND ARABIC CULTURE...They have danced on Indian music too in Arab's Got Talent !! In art there is nothing more precious than the fusion of cultures. In Canada, some Chinese are belly dancers and they are good at it

Fun fact: These Chinese dancers are actually deaf! Amazing. They are so on point. I think both the Chinese dancers and the Mayyas are great! It's definitely diffcult to do, they are app incredible!

fun fact, this is the Dance of Thousand-hand Guanyin. Guanyin is an East Asian bodhisattva associated with compassion. She is commonly known as the "Goddess of Mercy" in English. Quanyin is being depicted in various forms. One of which is having a thousand hands. The Original dance started in 1987 of the China Disabled people’s Performing Art Troupe. The “Dance of the thousand-hand Quanyin” is the most famous and most spectacular visual display of perfect dance synchronization.

this dance it's a looong long time before mayyas ,,,this dance it's about their God ,Kwan Im...they have many statue about thousands hand God Kwan Im..and I watch the original dance on 2010 when I search inspiration for movement in dance. So originally this dance it's from Chinese and mayyas group adapted the dance , and that's ok in art if you can make improvisation from other inspired,that's not a sin. But if you can create something new, that's amazing

Very creative and probably the original ones to do such art. However, the Mayyas took it to another level. Still, you gotta give the originals the credit for inventing this beautiful art. They do it so well! But if I had to choose between watching them and the Mayyas, I'd choose the Mayyas every time.

the first one i think is very traditional. mayyas brought it to the nxt level. every performance of theirs gave goosebumps. and every performance has story. and they dance also not just hand movements. VERY MODERN,very Millenial. what is unique on mayyas is the lead dancer. her facial expression as well as the snappy body sync to the beat of the music is so much exceptional ⚡⚡👌 GREAT DANCERS.

This group is very disciplined and perfect hand movements....But the mayyas are in a class of their own in everyway...I will choose them over this group by far...

They are definitly amazing and unique ...The choice of the music (composit Mohamad Abdel Wahab - Egypt) is very good and excellently suited to the choreography ... But, the girls are very disciplined and extremely precise ... Unbelievable how much training and work this all meant ...

The Chinese performers are from a hearing impaired (deaf) dance troupe. The music playing in this video is duped over and not the original music, you should watch the original video.

the dance of the Chinese group is more technical and in many parts the gestures were not in tuned with the arabic music. Mayyas on the other hand gave more life to the song with the integration of arabic belly dancing.

What makes the Thousand Hand dance so amazing is that it was originally and still is performed by a deaf dance troupe. More amazing over the Mayyas is the difficulty. Being able to do it to music without able to hear the music played. Easily a Vegas type show. Problem is that it's short. There isn't more to this specific dance. So, what the Mayyas bring is the variety of this style. Thank you Mayyas, keep up the hard work! Be proud that you represent your country and its culture in the highest regards. Not many men there can even whisper that. BRAVO!

Chinese is more about elegance (since thai dance is similarly with those ornaments) while arab is more about seduction (not in bad way, more like a snake hypnotising thing) thats why they give different energy in their dancing ,both are great
