Hola Ben! entiendo que quieres decir el 5870 de tp power con reisenauer, es el otro efoil que tengo y es una bestia! no puedo pasar del 70% de acelerador. La verdad me gusta este motor por lo simple y facil de montar, cualquiera puede hacer ya un efoil sin esfuerzo, para surfear olas que es lo que yo hago en este momento va perfecto, incluso me sobra potencia, es por eso que mi ultimo 4070 y reisenauer puede ser una buena combinacion tambien. Me resulta muy agradable lo poco ruidoso navegando y en definitiva calidad precio y montaje es lo mejor que veo actualmente. Realmente me gusta pero todavía tengo que probarlo mas. Gracias

Hey Virus looks like a good setup for people who don’t have access to shop equipment to make waterproof cans etc. if it came with a nose cone and clamp to attach it to a mast I think they would sell a lot of motors. I’d buy one in a heartbeat for that alone cause it’s the only piece I don’t have for my next build. Also why did you ditch the prop shroud? Also I know you made that carbon fiber prop ( sweet) but what pitch is it and is there an off the shelf prop I can buy cause I don’t have the 3D printer to make one. Thanks man Frankie

Hi Frank, how are you, friend? The engine is 100% waterproof, nose and back, okay? It is very easy to make a cone and a clamp and install it on a mast. I think you should buy a cheap 3d printer and print these parts. Thanks !!

virus You are probably right I should just suck it up and get a 3D printer. What about the prop though.? Is there an off the shelf prop I can use or do I have to print one ? Was the shroud around the prop causing a lot of drag? I lost a fight with a prop a few years ago and I have the scars to prove it so I like the shroud/duct around the prop unless it causes more problems than it solves. Hello Michael, good question, its too soon to know if this motor is very well sealed and durable, but its very easy to build, everyone can make an efoil ! just need to install a propeller and is a cheap system, Quality / price I think is the best option. But my geared system is more powerful than this one, sometimes the power is not the most important, it depends your application. My best propulsion should be the thin and lightweight and less power motor / gearbox that I could build for surfing. But if you want to make a simple efoil with good efficiency for freeride, this Maytech direct motor is perfect. I hope you understand my explanation, thanks

​ Michael Vadney It's Direct motor no gearbox, the motor less hot than my geared propulsion, no problem in both systems! ESC a little hot but the water was hot in the river and the pump was very hot. Thanks friend!

para olas es indiferente con el mando maytech puedes coger olas sin problema, en cuanto a potencia, si, el tp power son 14000w y este maytech son 5000w aunque sobre el agua el maytech corre de sobra, 35-40kmh

I bought the Maytech efoil kit in 2020 and it turned out to be garbage. The motor was fine (although the propeller they send you is way too big) but the controller is absolute trash. I hooked up a 14S battery (well within specs) and the result was not enough speed to foil followed by the motor burning out (ruined) within 5 minutes. Got a new motor, same result. Of course Maytech doesn’t honor their warranty. I switched over to a Flipsky system and after some programming issues got it working great. I’d say avoid Maytech!

Hola. Si. Pero piensa que no solo es el motor necesitas también espacio dentro del kayak para la electrónica que maneja el motor y espacio para la batería. Entra en la página dé Maytech que pongo en la descripción. Allí lo podrás comprar con tranquilidad. Hay kits de motor ESC y mando.

@@virus_virus si virus mi intencion es comprar solo el motor... la bateria pondria otra cualkiera con mas capacidad pues la que trae solo tiene autonomia para 1 hora y con otra mas grande hasta 6 horas... tengo sitio sin problemas
