Mayorga is a municipality located in the province of Leyte, which is situated in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. Mayorga is a 5th class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines.
The town was created in 1954 from the barrios of Mayorga, Andres Bonifacio, Talisay, San Roque, Burgos, Liberty, Union, Ormocay, Wilson, and the southern portion of barrio of Cogon Bingcay which were then a part of Dulag.
Tourists and travelers entering Mayorga town in the second district of Leyte are greeted by gigantic figures of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The 3-meter-high Transformers stand along the national highway near the town’s northern border.
