I don't really understand why state DOT funding can pay for a highways but not tracks. Build them publicly and charge Brightline to use them. Make them open access, like some parts Europe, so other services and operators could use them as well. This is a public good, why not act like it.

@@jeremievalle1728 Can you explain to me how government spending on roads, bridges, sewers, ports, etc. is freedom but building railroads is not?

I hope Brightline can build the extension to Tampa from Orlando. Amtrak service to Tampa is really slow due to the way they route the train. Fast relatively frequent service like on the Miami to Orlando route should be successful for the same reason heavy road traffic and too short to fly.

So you want Brightline to go to your city, but you don’t want to fund it at all, what is the logic behind this

No one can afford to live in Florida, we're being pushed out. How about work on affordable housing ????

Having the option to take transit to work, and not being forced to pay for a car is one of the ways to get affordable housing. If you don't have a cheep way to work you cant afford to live my dude.

Hope the station will be close to the VA on Bruce B Downs. I'd rather take the train from Cocoa to Tampa than be stuck in the traffic jams jams on I-4 any day of the week.

Don't take credit for the success of the rail once it goes through to Tampa then.

Conservatives hate trains and to the extent that they don’t they want you to think the whole thing can be run as just a business even though no other transportation infrastructure in the country works that way. Brightline is a step in the right direction but they should have taken longer to build more ROW, electrify it, and increase the speed. Maybe someday they can improve the corridor but this is the conservative answer to the problem of population density, half as good with half the money in half the time.

Tax and Toll money pays for highways so it is also suppose to pay for intercity and regional rail services

Mayor use some common since quit bottle neck 275 + I -4 just do what the big cities to do control your flow like at malfunction junction ( 1 cities put like railroad crossing arms on on ramps close to malfunction junction to control the flow at rush hour only let so many car on at a time ) ( 2 Put over pass for a by pass through Tampa only Maybe over 275 to Tampa Airport + South 275 only exit ) ( 3 Keep all big trucks out of the left lane cars only ) ( 4 Cops pull someone over get them off to next exit and write there ticket safely ) ( 5 You can not stuff 4 lanes into 2 lanes thats called battle necking ) Well that train if there planning on bring that train down the middle off 1-4 Boy won't there be a lot wrecks on I -4 watching that train ! Wow O by the way theres a curve in the railroad track in Lakeland fl a train can only 35 mile an hour Brightline and I own that property beside the railroad track in the curve if want to buy it to straighten out tracks for more speed I sure take your money $ !

Rail line should have already been along I4. Three governors ago messed that up.
