Mayor Adams, FDNY give update on Manhattan crane collapse
A crane went up in flames Wednesday morning high above Manhattan, then partially collapsed onto the street below. Mayor Eric Adams is on the scene to provide an update, along with the FDNY and Department of Buildings.

The one thing I like here is seeing Chief Pfeifer back on the force as FDNY First Deputy Commissioner. He retired as Assistant Chief five years ago, and it is good to see him back as part of New York's Bravest again.
This is an example of "people not doing their damn job." Inspections should be done everyday and above the required "minimum." This contracter has had previous violations and a crane fall years ago. My guess is the engine and its cables were overloaded from the 16 tonne load causing friction and then the fire. Thank GOD people had minor injuries. NYC was really Lucky.

Well you’re guess is wrong the fire started because a hydraulic hose ruptured and sprayed hydraulic fluid onto the hot engine and exhaust it is kind of hard to visually inspect a hydraulic hose and see that it could possibly fail
❤Love mayor ADAMS of nyc❤ 👍 👍 👍 👍 GOOD teamwork Good job guys❤❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
His weakness!, the lord high mayor of new york city!
