Maybe the chillest MonoNeon bassline you'll hear... | Real Nice Moment - KNOWER [bass transcription]

Музыка

Just listened to KNOWER's latest banger of an album, and the bass wizard MonoNeon threw down (chill-ly) on this track. So I transcribed it.

    i do the same thing as mono! a lot of left handed people get right handed instruments because they are cheaper since there is more demand or the instrument is a hand-me-down

    If everything is pitched 60 cents down, does that mean Louis wrote it in that detuned piano? 🤯 Or he tuned that piano like this for the song which is also top tier.

    I think it fits perfectly with the song. Not too busy but has some really tasteful licks. Also he's playing super locked in on the backside of the drum groove and that is cool!

    @YTSparty@@BenLewisTranscribes If you listen real closely, Louis and Rai are deliberately playing just a "smidge" (is that a musical term??) behind the beat. Mononeon, seems to be playing right on the beat for the most part - bringing the ultimate stank funk by emphasizing the "1"!

  • @althejazzman

    I don't think it's 16th note swing, it's a quintuplet swing, so each beat is subdivided into 5, and accented on the 3rd and 5th of those subdivisions.

  • @NZsaltz

    @NZsaltz

    7 ай бұрын

    16th note swing is just referring to the 16th notes being swung, not the amount of swing, and frankly I don't think the swing is calculated. It's way too fast to accurately do that, especially listening to the ghost notes in the drum groove. They're probably just feeling it.

  • @chrissturley823

    I don’t dig the vocals or the sax. Not saying they aren’t talented. I just would have preferred a different flavor with the music. The sax felt forced, even though they held it back in the mix (good choice). And the vocals made me uncomfortable. It was generic, if that makes sense. Just my opinion.
