Ok but if you guys think abt it, is it really her fault? All she did was try to protect fab , and the punch falling on her was a pure accident. But she kinda made a fuss about it. She embarrassed Devi in front of everyone. Ik it’s not fair saying one can be an accident while the other isn’t but still. Accidentally doing something, and deliberately calling our ur best friend are two very different things. Fab would’ve drank some ball soaked punch. Your welcome. For those who dont know what is happening in this scene. A girl named fabiola was about to drink some fruit punch and someone told fabiola friend, devi that the popular boy, trent. Stuck his balls into the drink and they were laughing at anyone who drank it. So devi was trying to help her best friend fabiola by telling her not to drink the juice and knocking it out of her hands but instead she accidentally ran into the table and knocked all the juice into fabiola so now her friends fabiola and eleanor are mad at her. Show name: never have I ever. (On netflix)

From experience when your dad dies it just takes everything over so I don't think it was completely different from the problem because they seem to think that her problem was her being dramatic when she's literally going through probably the worst grief in her entire life and she's in high school that fucks you up but God forbid she's not the same as before. When someone that close to you dies you cannot regulate your emotions at least at that age when it's already hard to regulate your emotions so in turn sometimes you treat the people you care about kind of shittily it's not intentional you're going through one of the worst things in your life, personally I think it's kind of a dick move not to understand/forgive that. Disclaimer I've never watched this show before

The sad thing is that it’s really relatable on Devi’s part. Feeling like the only person who really cared about her has died and she’s constantly questioning her self worth, who her real friends are, what she’s gonna do with her life. I love this show because instead of the usual perfect story and perfect main character, she has flaws. She is so human and real and I love that she makes mistakes, and some things are her fault, and she has panic attacks, she's only a teenager. She doesn't understand how to be the best person and she obviously learns from it. I love Devi

@@lenisnow4743 Nobody is perfect, especially teenagers. They are selfish and don't really understand things until they learn. They do things they regret and then learn from their mistakes. Devi has anger issues stemming from trauma and it's not okay to be a bad person but when she realizes she did something wrong she tries her best to fix it. Flaws are what make people human. She's just a kid.

It's all to do with grief, my best friend's mum died and she completely changed. She became so horrible and cruel but I could hardly blame her because of what she was going through

People need to accept death. My parents, I got adopted and death has kept going. Death is natural. And instead of turning into monsters they should be honouring the person by being the best they can be. Devi used her 'my dad died' card like as if she was the only one going through stuff. I never watch the show but the clips give me a rough idea and I never want to watch it. This is supposed to be my representation of Indian ... It's gross. "Not everything is about your ND your problem" everyone needs to remember this line. Sometimes some friends are so self centered or self obsessed or talk too much about their own problems that they don't even have any time look at their friend to see if that person is actually happy or sad, they don't even have patience to give an ear to their friends who patiently listens to them everytime or when the other people are dealing with their own problems this mean ass people get all dramatic and angry. Friendship should work both ways. Not just one person always stubborn that everyone has to give them a shoulder to cry and other person not even getting a chance to talk about their problems or live their own life in their own ways.

I can understand what devi's going through my sister died 4 years ago, it's a system of grief first year you will hate yourself and push everybody away and snap at others for no reason, secound year you will try to make others happy but ruining yourself in the process, year three you will have two different sides one is very kind and caring and the other wants to blame everybody else for your own problems, year four you will be sensitive but never cry infront of people and try to make them feel better but it always hurts you but you hide your emotions.. devi is basically only on year 1. tbh i understand her so much. when my mom got cancer when i was 13, i was never the same girl ever again, even if i tried to be. it wasnt something you could really comfort someone about with anything other than like, "she'll be okay, everything will be okay" so i just didnt expect any comfort at all. what i didnt expect was that i couldnt focus anymore, i couldnt sleep, my mind was like an empty slate all the time and i pushed people away for not noticing how much hurt i had.. but it's not anyone's obligation to prioritize you over themselves guys. anyway, my point is, i hate the whole "well just bc *insert something really traumatic* happened doesnt mean you can be a shitty friend" yes, exactly, but thats way easier to say than do. i wasnt unresponsive or emotionally unavailable on purpose, i just couldnt get myself to do anything at all. even if it was simply smiling at someone in the hallway. i used to be very popular and bubbly. i can barely smile nowadays, not because im sad but simply i cant feel it anymore. i havent really watched this show at all but all i know is that i felt like i shouldve said this because people don't understand until they go through something themselves. if i saw this before, i wouldve said the exact same thing, that devi shouldnt be self centered and use her dads death as an excuse. but when your whole world comes crashing down on you within minutes, it's hard to feel any other way than, "why me?" and it causes you to misbehave. i hope her friends got closure, but i also hope she too got closure and found her way back to them

She didnt mean for that to happen and was only trying to help but her friend was still angry, though that may have been more from how they had been treated by her recently. But your right she was treating them very badly and her friends were rightfully upset about it. And Devi’s dad dying shouldnt be an excuse for it.

I already appreciate how the show doesn’t congratulate her or go easy on her when she messes up. Her friends,mom ,therapist and even her love interests are quick to correct her bad behavior and impulsiveness. I also do appreciate when they give her room to explore growth and don’t make her feel bad when she actually has the reason to react a certain way(like w the other guy who ghosted her). She has needed LOTS of character growth but I like the pacing and I respect her as a character,along with her friends. I will say though it is definitely a journey bc she does be doing the most 💀

Please pin this: Basically that’s Devi and Fabiola is who she is arguing with, Devi lied to Fabiola and Eleanor and ditched Eleanor when her mother abandoned her for a photoshoot. That’s a birthday party and a group of boys, (Trent and his friends) put there balls in the juice and Devi wanted to protect Fabiola from being embarrassed but ended up ruining her suit instead and accidentally made Fabiola come out gay to there whole class.

My father died two years ago, my brother went from an argument every week to every day, he became depressed and angry, but in that time I tried to grow and I let my feelings out and didn’t take it out of others, it took awhile but now I changed to someone better and healthier ❤

It’s so sad how people, even friends, always expect us to act like we have it all together, it’s really not easy to loose a parent at that young age And not changing after something traumatising is something no one can expect but still I don’t think anyone has to put up with shitty behaviour I just wish she wouldn’t have exposed Devi in front of all the others

If your old friends cannot accept the fact that you have new friends. You shouldn’t care. They can’t even accept who you are and that you are moving forward. Real friends follow you every step of the way and allow you to make decisions for yourself. One for me, I made so many friends in primary school and didn’t manage to get their phone numbers. I don’t care if any one of them is fake or not, I only care of the moments we spent together and how memorable it is. Good friends give you happiness and arguments don’t damage your friendship. A strong friendship is very rare to me and I wanted one but I could be too sensitive and cry so for all of my friends I use this tactic and if I cry, I’ll tell them and see how they will react. Their reaction to my weakest side of my personality is very important. If they cannot accept it, they might be too hard for me but they are still my friends but not best friends, that’s all. A friendship lesson. I cried when Devi friend shouted at her so suddenly. Seriously what drama, can’t you talk it out nicely and asked her why she did that. Yes, I totally understand everyone is different but she didn’t even see the big picture and overreacted. If I was Devi, I would fall into depression very easily and would be want to left alone and talk to my own imaginary friends. I still do that in real life although I have some good friends already. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I still feel alone with my feelings. After hiding it for such a long time, it takes time for me to share my feelings.

It's sad and sometimes people like devi just need to be selfish like a lot but still she also needs to be aware of her friends feelings

The way she told that to devi... That's not how you deal with it.... Yeah, it's sad that Devi lost her dad. But instead of going to therapy to properly deal with her grief, she has been using it as an excuse to be a shitty friend and person.... Both her friends tried to be there for her, but where was she when they were dealing with their own struggles??? So, i don't think, she did anything wrong by publicly going off on Devi.....

Honestly I feel like it might some be Devi’s fault but you don’t know what’s really going on in someone’s life and sure it doesn’t give them a free pass,but when you are treating people a certain way we really never try too. And sometimes when we think we’re not doing anything and that we fine and we just get told that over and over and over agin “ why are being so rude” or “you’ve changed”. It hurts and makes us feel like we’re worth nothing and sure we all make mistakes but seriously if your friend acts like this sure it’s really sad and it makes you feel like we wanna runaway or that maybe no one is interested. But sure it doesn’t give us the free pass but most of the time were really not trying too.

I always hated it when people say “I want the old you back” I don’t understand why someone would ever say that. Hearing that hurts me because I feel like people don’t want to see me evolve, or grow. it feels like they want me to stay in the same spot forever. It’s a toxic red flag sentence. And what makes it worse is that the people that say it are probably not the same either. Idk hearing that sentence feels like that person is holding you hostage.
