I will definitely gonna use the tren maya after watching your video, it seems easier than I thought.

That was a very nice trip! Valladolid looks really nice and I agree, Trisha, that two days may be better than one. I give you credit for being super patient while waiting for all of the things, I'm not sure I would have handled it as well as you did.

This was fantastic! Impromptu, no solid plans, nothing booked in advance and yet you still managed to have a wonderful trip and make a fabulous and informative video. Very well done! I’m excited to take the train when we get back. We had planned a trip to Palenque that got cancelled this year and maybe it was for the best because it would have had to include a lot of overnight or late night bus rides and the train just makes it so much more convenient and easy. I think it’s a great innovation for transportation in the Yucatan. I’m excited to try it out. Gracias amiga!!

Thank you for making these videos and filming the ordeal: there's so many conflicting stories in the expat groups! Looking forward to them ironing out the issues and the process getting smoother. My hood is Mérida but I do love its mini version, Valladolid, as well! 😌 🙏🏼 🚆 🇲🇽

What are the conflicting stories? I'd love to know a little more about that! Yes over time I think it will get much better BUT still a train I don't think many locals will use.

For sure they still need to work on many things, but hope it gets better and better as it goes. I appreciate your effort & im excited to go soon!

Amazing to think that before June of 2020 none of those tracks or trains or stations were even built!

Yes, many of them were not, and this thing was built FAST. Too fast, in my opinion, but what's done is done!

It doesn't seem that they would. They will only go by what your ID says, what it looks like to me.

30:09 The problem is that whatever you experience today will be different next month. Everything is changing so fast that the info is good, but gets dated very fast. As for your comment that you thought it would come every hour... they've ordered 42 entire trains from Alstom, the company building them and they have 7 so far. As you can imagine it takes quite some time to build an entire factory in Mexico and train people to work in them and then build 42 entire trains. More will come in time but for now they're running all of the trains they have.

I just watched your video. I wish I would have seen this before I bought my ticket for Saturday. I chose special tourist because I did not know what to choose. I hope they will let me ride and pay the difference in the price on my arrival. On the website it's not clear at all and I think it definitely should be instead of having to watch KZread videos. Ha ha ha. Anyways. I hope I will be able to ride.

Also that would also be the disabled and elderly but I THINK those could be Residents of Mexico as well!

@@MyTrishAdvisor Residents can have an INAPAM card but I don't know of one that has tried to take the train yet.
