Steve's wtf face was the best thing ever.
Had the privilege and honor of seeing them perform this live. It's still one of the funniest skits I've ever seen!

hahahaha, all Steve Carell needs to do is stand with a straight face, its hilarious.
"Between a white man...and an old black woman" XD, I can't
Truly masters of their craft.
Oh my God, this is one of the best sketches I've ever seen!
Who remembers the old Daily Show when Colbert and Carell were both correspondents? Those were the days! Now it's time to search YT for some of those old episodes :)

I call that time "The Golden Age of The Daily Show" I can't find much any of it on the web except small clips on KZread. Fortunately I recorded some of the shows to VHS. So when I can find a working VHS player again...

Who remembers when both steve's were on SNL as the Ambigiously Gay duo??
Where has this been all my life?
I went to school here for acting and improv for about 4-5 years, and I gotta say, the legends and the history of everyone but especially these two and the belushi brothers..it’s a lot to live up to
This is the two of them at their absolute best.
I was laughing do hard my two favorite Steves :)

I think this is one of the all-yime great sketches. The comedic timing and pacing of the story are so exact that its comfortable...which just further heightens the incongruity 😂 Funny and satirical - great comedy
I'm so confused. But that was awesome!

My theatre teacher showed us this, I’m glad he did but just 🤩
This was shown in my drama I class when we where talking about improv. My teacher warned the class about the Male-on-Male kiss but people still went wild, the boys where cheering, the girls where screaming. Chaos.
Steve Carell at 6:04 to 6:40 is hilarious

@@ADSuri What are YOU talking about? Carell is the entire reason this is funny. He provided the baseline. Without Carell, this would've just been Colbert playing an old, black woman, no different than a guy reading the part of Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". Sure, there's potential the juxtaposition to provide comedy there, but it's not laugh out loud funny. The comedy comes from Carell seeing Colbert as we see Colbert, rather than as an old, black woman, and wondering what the heck is going on. If he wasn't there or if he just went with it, this wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny. Everyone except Carell is acting like this is 100% normal & Colbert is playing the role of an old, black woman. Carell is the one telling the audience this isn't normal and Colbert isn't playing an old, black woman, but, rather, someone who actually looks like himself whom everyone sees as an old, black woman. Especially considering that "Yes, and" is the most well-known rule of improv, knowing that he should break from the pack here really highlights Carell's chops, and his acting sold it.
Just found this. LOVE it! Thank you so much for posting.

Carell must’ve put himself through hell to be able to do what he does in this sketch. And quite honestly everything else I’ve seen him to do.

Luigi Terroni We improvised this in rehearsals, then write it once we liked all we improvised. It was, though, pretty much the way it was originally improvised. It was from a show in 1994.

Who wrote this?
Anyone getting south park vibes?
I honestly can't tell if this improvised or a sketch. Does anyone know?

John Lascurettes All scripted. Perhaps came out of an improvised nugget. But this was part of a sete, scripted portion of a Second City Mainstage revue. I believe in circa 1992.

I got confirmation on Facebook via David Razowsky (the guy who gets kissed) that this was a written sketch that Carrell and Colbert brought it into rehearsal, was improvised by the group, then added to the set.
