Congrats on the opportunity to be able to buy some land & build a house. How exciting. I know Kelsey from Budget Better Life is in the process of buying a house & she is using mostly prop money right now so she can keep most of her money in the bank.

That’s probably going to be our best bet. I don’t want to give up the progress and momentum we’ve gained by stopping - even for a short while!

When i first went searching for houses & got down to mortgages, I was told you want to keep as much money in a central account (checking or savings) as possible. I guess lenders see the constant transactions as risky? Either way, I use prop money for all my envelopes & will until I have my future home. I'm definitely not a professional, but I'd personally go for the credit card due to the interest rate. Definitely talk with your broker/financial advisor to get their perspective too. 😅

Just use prop money for the money that you would normally pull out of the bank and leave the money in the bank and you'll still be able to cash stuff and it will still make you feel like you're accomplishing something. That's what I would do if I was in your situation with this opportunity.

I am not a financial expert, but if you have more bills in the future, because of this land, I would go for the most economical option. I would pay of the credit card simply because this is costing you the most interest. But definitely talk to a broker and maybe also to your bank. Good luck! It must be so nice designing your own home and also living nex to a friend.

You could use prop money to stuff in place of real cash for awhile. Then you wouldn't have to remove the real money from the bank, but can still "cash stuff".
