Any Side Deck recommendations? Need tools for Tenpai, Yubel and Shifter matchups mainly.

As a returning player would this deck be op much for someone that was a day one Yugioh fan till 5d’s ended? I never played with the black cards or blue or dual colored ones. But this deck doesn’t have any outside of the black cards and synchros. Any advice is welcomed!

I’m gonna be honest with you, if 5Ds is the last time you played, you’re gonna have a difficult time playing most decks that aren’t stun based due to how much more complicated decks have become. However, all the new mechanics are fairly easy to learn, so it shouldn’t take too long to relearn the basics. As for the Lightsworn deck, while the deck has changed a lot over time, the general concept is still very much the same. You want to mill as many cards as possible in order to defeat your opponent as soon as possible. There of course aspects of the game you have to worry about such as essentially zone placement, since you’re actually forced to keep cards in the zones you placed them as opposed to the old days where players were constantly moving cards around, order of operations, thinking ahead to future plays, etc. but those are all things you’ll eventually get the hang of the more you play the game.

Do you double sleeve your beautiful cards? and what sleeves do you use?

I always double sleeve for real tournaments and my go to choice is clear dragon shields.

Reason for not playing Minerva main deck and a Garroth to mill and potentially draw. My personal experience, having garroth is kind of cracked when you can make the synchro and xyz before milling while having garroth on field

You legitimately already mill your entire deck on turn one, so the level 3 Minerva is just unnecessary. As for Garoth, I’ve honestly never been in a situation where it would be better than raiden or reinoheart. It honestly just feels like a win more card that requires more set up than any other potential normal summon in the deck.
