So grateful for prophets who are brave enough to speak the truth at all costs. Elder Oaks, strong like a tree that doesn’t bend in the wind.

It hurts my heart and leaves me SO confused when leaders forget or exclude Heavenly Mother. According to the church essay She was apart of our creation and the creation of The Plan as well! Why not say “Heavenly Parents” and speak with complete truth? It causes me to seriously doubt…! If they don’t include Her does She really exist?? Is it really true? It REALLY confuses me on my identity and eternal purpose/worth when leaders won’t mention supposed truths about who I’m supposed to become. What’s so bad or confusing or what causes Leaders the need to avoid Her? What does that say about me and my eternal worth and potential? Ah so confusing for me 💔🥺 This quote from the essay haunts me… Elder Rudger Clawson wrote, “We honor woman when we acknowledge Godhood in her eternal Prototype.” Why does womens eternal prototype scarcely get mentioned? And when it is in conference it comes with so many warnings as if she’s dangerous? 😞 If she’s my eternal prototype.. do I come with eternal warning signs or caution? I am seeking to understand.

Consider what happens when people feel such pressure to get married that they rush into marriage with a person before they learn of incompatible or abusive spouses. Some people who hold temple recommends are not how they present themselves. Balance all counsel with your self-knowledge.

The Sisters need to put in effort too! The sisters rarely flirt with the guys no a days and they have set the bar way too high as well. I agree that the brothers need to buck up and be men and grow up, but the sisters have just as much responsibility in helping the brothers find them and actually understand that it’s okay that we aren’t millionaires or perfect. Don’t delete my comment this time. That’s not cool that you deleted my last comment, just because you may not agree with it doesn’t mean you get to silence me.

This was such a great devotional. I loved how Sister Oaks said she waited and remained faithful until marrying at age 53. There was a joke she made in one talk about being a professional single adult until age 53.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in MATTHEW 24:23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

Get married young and start pumping out kids. Don't be like Sisters Oaks and Nelson who waited until they were in their 50s.

Oaks married June Dixon on June 24, 1952. She died from cancer on July 21, 1998. They had six children, including Dallin D. Oaks, a linguistics professor at BYU,[103] and Jenny Oaks Baker, a violinist.[5] The last child the Oaks had was born 13 years after their fifth child.[104] On August 25, 2000, Oaks married Kristen Meredith McMain in the Salt Lake Temple.[105] McMain was in her early 50s, and it was her first marriage; she had previously served a mission for the LDS Church in the Japan Sendai Mission. McMain has bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Utah and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from BYU.[106]
