Maxxis RAZR AT (All-Terrain) Tires Review - Nothing but Impressed!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hey guys I wanted to share my experience with the Maxxis Razr A/T Tires after having them on my truck for over 6 months!
As the video says, amazing tire, shame they do not run to size. Oh well, I saved over $330 in savings compared to other tires in the same size.

Hey! Please take a moment to like and subscribe :) Thank you! The Vagabond Nomad is on orderrrr!
these and the Kenda Klever RT's are on my short list for my 4Runner build. Great real world review of these! These may actually be perfect for a daily driver, even more so than the Klever RT. I just can't do KO2's anymore with the quality issues and horrible wet traction on the last few sets of the BFG's. The RAZR MT's are SURPRISINGLY quiet on road too!
Your rig looks sharp! I've tried many tire brands, once I got my set of Maxxis MT's, not going back to the other tire companies...
Just got a set of theses 12-50-20 35 inch and they are super quiet
Hi, did you take any highway decibel measurements? I’m in Australia and looking at buying a set for 80% highway and 20% off road usage. Any thoughts.

Unfortunately I did not and I think it would vary too greatly car/truck, but take my word that these are quiet. They don’t even hum.

Have you had any experience between the predator new mutant x at and the general grabber atx? Really trying to decide between those 2.
@socalexpeditions
Жыл бұрын
I have not heard of the Predator's. I have heard good things about the ATX though!
I've run toyo's for a while (all 35s) rt/mt and I've gotten really good mileage out of them minus this last set (I ran over a deer) I've had non stop problems keeping tires on(less then 6k miles) never heard or seen these tires but they do look really good!
They are a section mold tire instead of a clamshell mold. Better for balancing..
Their site says 36.5... Do they all run small? I'm looking at 295/65-20 but want a true 35"
@socalexpeditions
Жыл бұрын
Yes they run small
Great review. Tire size is measured by the manufacturer of a fully aired up tire mounted on a wheel with zero load. You measured yours close to half psi with already some tire wear. Maxxis tires are actually know to be closer to true tire size than many other tires…
@socalexpeditions

Even off the truck, they are not even close to 37". IIRC it wasn't even 36.5" brand new with no weight on it.
@GReviewz
8 ай бұрын
@@socalexpeditions yeah that is pretty normal. 36-36.5” is what the majority of 37” tires measure our to when new. They look good on your truck to me.
Torn between these, BFG KM3s, Yokohama XATs and Cooper STT Pros. Currently on BFG AT KO2s that have been quite decent.
@socalexpeditions
11 ай бұрын
Well the KM3’s and STT Pros aren’t quiet tires at all. The Maxxis will be the most quiet out of them. Also the same tread depth as the KO2. If I were picking between all those options I’d give the Yoko’s a try. Deeper tread depth so they should last longer and some good reviews on them.
Wow, that was a dodge diesel on the dunes? I've got that truck in a 05 and just ordered the 35 11.5 17's. Did you air down even more?

On a 4Runner, would you go with these or a kenda rt? I’m seeing these on eBay for under $800 for a set of 33’s and the kenda rt is just under $1k. My Cummins has the ridge grapplers and they’ve done very well.
@socalexpeditions

@@socalexpeditions thanks so much! I hope to get these and do a review also. Seems like a good tire from what I’ve read. So are you saying they aren’t true to size in your videos? I’m looking at a 285 50 r22 for these and the Maxxis website says they are 33.7 inches tall while some other websites say 33.2 inches and around that.

Maybe 1mpg? If that, and I bet that’s from the lift if anything. I think my truck prefers the 37s actually as my rpm’s sit lower on the freeway.

The Kenda Klever RT's had more tread depth and I felt that they gripped better at higher psi than the Maxxis do. I will be buying Kenda's again. They are definitely louder though.

The size is exactly what you would expect from any tire, i’ve run Terra Grappler g2 and toyo a/t in 37” and they all meassure just under 36 mounted with the vehicle weight on it
@socalexpeditions
Жыл бұрын
Some tires are more true to size. For instance, a Nitto Ridge Grappler in a 37x12.50r17 will measure in the 36.5-36.6" size while mounted, while a KO2 will come in at 35.7-35.9". Both those tires you mentioned run small in general.

Once you mount the tires, the weight of the truck compresses down and they lose an inch or so. You’re torn over this it seems, but trust me it’s gonna happen all across the board.
