    Don’t know what you’re thinking, winter tyres aren’t going to last 10 years. These look like winters that someone has tried to run year round, and the summer heat has broken down the rubber early.

    Also you’re comparing summer tyres at the end to winters. Due to the siping and soft compound, winters do look a bit ‘shagged’ after a couple of seasons, but usually you’d expect a set of winters to do you 2 or 3 winter seasons.

    @@shugthehornyhaggis there was an offer on for these and I was considering them, I'm looking for some all season tyres that'll be decent all year around - incidentally, I just got married to a woman from up your neck of the woods judging from you accent, I live in Manchester with her hut we occasionally travel up north to see her family and will be doing this Christmas... I don't think my Bridgestone Potenzas are gonna last me and was considering these purely because of the fact they were all season tyres - and where her family live in Scotland in winter time is gonna be a ball ache on summer tyres. I guess I'm just gonna have to pay a bit extra and get some Continental All Season Contact tyres instead and see if they'll do me any good. Shame because I can get some Yokohama Sport V105s for £220 brand new for all 4 tyres! But to be honest, it looks like those Yokos will probably do a damn sight better in the middle of the sticks in Scotland in winter than those Maxxis tyres!! Really appreciate this video mate. I won't buy em now.

    The severe service emblem in frame 2:49 indicates the tires could either be All-weather or Winter. Most likely winter tires based on the tread design, but certainly by the wear and tear (from being driven during summer). Get all-weather tires or all-season tires instead.

    Three years is plenty old for all-season snow tyres with soft silicon sipes. However, I can recommend Michellin Cross Climate 2's (and Cross Climate Plus) for all-season snow tyres, as well as Falkern HS449 dedicated snow tyres. The Falkerns are no good on dry tarmac in normal weather though because they wear quickly.

    How long did the car sit stationary during lockdown? Small surface cracks in the rubber isn't an issue, so long as they remain on the surface. The Award winning Maxxis Premita 5 has some of the best reviews in it's price bracket and is rated top in both wet & dry braking. I had GoodYear, Pirelli and Maxxis fitted during the time I owned an ST24 and the Maxxis were in a league of their own when it came to handling, especially in the wet. I've had them fitted to numerous cars since and just spent £400 today fitting them to my Volvo V70.

    I have the Maxxis AP3's on my car. They are about a year and a half old, and they are in a much worse state than yours. The rubber is peeling off around the entire circumference of the tyre, on all four. They will not pass the next MOT. They literally have about 3/4 tread left and yet its all peeling off. By far the worst tyres I've ever used.

    Maxxis tires are owned by Doublestar which is a Chinese tyre company. They aren't exactly the best. Though having owned Michelins and Bridgestones in the past, for most tires if you park outside and your rubber is exposed to the elements a lot, no matter what the brand eventually within a few years they are gonna start to wear down. I've had Bridgestones that rotted on me in 3 years.

    At the time of filming they were 1.5 years old and used daily all tiers fitted to a car sit in the elements so your argument has no weight, the recommendation from the German tuv is that tyres should be no older than 10 years old but that won't stop you getting a TUV as long as they are in good condition. Most tyre shops are selling tiles that are between two and three years old depending on where you buy, eBay is bad for old new tyers

    I hate to say this but looking at the tyre wear and the pull of the tread of the tyer , I would say you have a very bad tracking angle set up on your steering. This would cause all the problems that you are showing on this tyres but not the cracking necessarily. I would need to know how you drive and what the rear tyres are like to be sure. Get your tracking checked.

  • @shugthehornyhaggis

    @shugthehornyhaggis

    10 ай бұрын

    What crap are you talking, having any issues with tracking would show in uneven wear pattern and it would show on the front tyres only this is a dry cracked pattern that's even throughout 2 year old tyers that are less than 6 months fitted on the car and less than 3000 km driven. Nothing you say is based in any form of reality tracking issues would never cause such wear, the problem is actually that maxxis is more than one tyre company there bike tyres there off road tyers and there race tyers are all different companies, then you have maxxis car tyers Europe Asia and america also basically 3 difrent companies, I'm fairly sure these are some Asian maxxis imported here ilegaly they may have had all the complying marks but they where not complying
