Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this video I was on the fence about the titanium and REALLY didn’t wanna spend the money and found the Ethics Archery gear. Got my Easton 4mm long range on order, the ethics archery insert with sleeve, and field points from them on the way It’s great to hear you haven’t had any issues with them (I went aluminum for weight as these will be my TAC arrows) Thank you so much for this entire video! Absolute gold.

Great video. I will stick with my GT Hunter XT’s. The deer don’t seem to mind that they are cheaper.

I know a micro will penetrate better with a field point but does it make a big difference when the arrow is following a 1"-2" broadhead?

Black eagle rampage with the 100 grain out skirt works great. I always buy extra out skirts because of where I shoot. If I do bend one I just put a new one on. I have arrows with over a thousand shots on each, most are on their third outskirt and still true. It's a little over $2.00 for the outskirt.

I've also had tremendous luck with the Axis 340 spine arrows out of every bow I've had since the Mathews Switchback XT, through the Chill & Halon and now the VXR 31.5. Solid choice... I've also had luck with the Easton FMJ dangerous game's for building fun, accurate, monstrous weight arrows

Could not agree with you more on this, had some 204 victory rips that i put a lot of work into being perfect, put broadheads on them and none of them would fly, spun them and all the inserts were bent, so when I got my VAPs I was not about to trust those since they were longer and skinnier than the RIPs, got eithics outserts and they are awesome! Also put callors from elk river archery on my buddies axis and that with the HITs seems to be pretty tough

Great info, I was contemplating using a small diameter arrow, not anymore...seems like a lot of weak links and specialized components for a millimeter difference in diameter....maybe if I was shooting at the Olympics it would factor into my decision....

I picked up the Black Eagle Deep impact with the F.O.C.O.S system to try this year. They have alot of good reviews and I wanted to try something a little heavier. My thing is why spend a ton of money on a bow and sights etc. And skimp on arrows and broadheads? Thats the most important part IMO.

Could you please do a video on how to manipulate a hinge? I just got one and am not sure if i should pull with my back or rotate my hand.

Just finished setting up a couple test arrows from DaySix, curious as to your opinion on these arrows.

With regard to inserts for the Goldtip arrows, Top Hat makes these inserts but I do not recommend them because of the diameter. Goldtip arrows Hunter XT and Hunter Pro have a .246 and Top Hat is .244, with a smooth exterior. When you glue the insert in, it’s a little loose, and it’s hard for the glue to adhere to the arrow inside wall. I use heavier, 50 grain inserts for more FOC, using the Goldtip inserts now because not only do they fit better, they adhere better as well.

Tophat inserts will fit carbon express arrows.

VAP makes a stainless half-out for micro shaft arrows that is more cost effective than the titanium

I am testing the Victory VAP TKO 4mm 300 spine V3 straightness. I upgraded the 6 with the Easton titanian 55 grain. So far they have been tough and holding up. Grouping great it off a Matthews V3X 29 with 65 LBS 80 Let off. So far they set up seems solid. I am still testing. I will pay for quality. But they have to pass first.

The Titanium Outserts are *worth* the 💰!

Looks like a standard white wrap with a 4 fletch AAE hybrid 23 vane.

As always, stellar examples and explicit explanations regarding the topic of your videos!! *BTW, I took your advice and purchased those Easton Axis 260's. I broke every one of them within a 5-day window shooting at a Mofoam Chunk 103-110 yards out. Utterly disintegrate those arrows. I'm now using the Beman ICS Carbon Defender Elite and haven't had the same issues. I believe it has to do with (from Easton: the distance I was shooting (103-105 yards), the length of the arrows (31.5" cut), the insert (50-grain brass), tip (100-grain), AAE 4-fletched, (overall arrow; length 33.5", weight 425 grains from a 32" DL, 70# G5 Prime Logic CT9.) Arrow length + weight FOC at those distances made for a "unique" u characteristic parabolic flight attack angle. The arrows lost integrity just behind the insert (1st breakpoint) and again just below the wrap as it hit the target a second time as it [arrow] broke forward against the top edge of the target. Recommended remedy, shorten the arrow length (30.5") same weight FOC with an aluminum insert vs brass. Add bushings to and see how this works.) I'm still out the money for the dozen Axis, but I've learned that being an outlier in archery requirements means, what works for others simply will not work for us. Experience; something we gain AFTER we need it! ;) * keep up the great work!

I also have 32" DL and have been using Gold Tip Platinum Pierce arrows cut to 30.5" that have a total weight of 481 grains. I have never had an issue with arrows breaking. I have read some folks mention QC for the arrows is lacking regarding arrow straightness and weight consistency, but again I have not experienced this. I practice out to 100-110 yards and have great arrow flight with field tips and broadheads (Exodus and Grim Reapers) using AAE Max Stealth (3-vane) .

@@pennyontrack, thank you. I don't lean towards QC issues, my thoughts when I contacted the seller, as well as the manufacturer, was, what caused it, not so much, who. I like to focus on a sustainable viable solution that works best for me. What worked for "Jordan" worked for him alone. We can try to emulate others but the reality is Archer is as unique to each shooter as are our fingerprints.

What I have found is that the BEST arrows for me concerning accuracy have been the Easton Dangerous Game 250 (total arrow weight is ridiculous at 768.9 grains) cut at 31.5 with a 100 grain tip or the QAD Exodus broadheads - but they work. Consistently. With very tight groups in almost all applications. Second best are the Victory VAPs. Three of these micro diameter arrows can squeeze into the size of a nickel! Third, are the Beman Carbon Defenders Elite 300 sound, cut at 30.5. All my arrows are 4 fletched and I only use Bohning Zen vanes. No other vane I have tried with well. And of course, feathers work best! (Feathers shoot faster for me as well because I drop 40-50 grains of weight off the back of the arrow! I have been experiencing a 15-17 for increase when using the exact same arrow build utilizing feathers instead! ;)

I shoot the carbon injection/ethics system combo. Good choice!

About to buy the procomps, been looking at insert-footer options from Ethic, VPA and Iron Will. I thought even the Easton Titanium half outs where not any good? Still too much outside the shaft to snap off. People are blowing the half outs out of the Victories also. That's why I was goin insert footer rout. If money is no issue r u saying I should run the Easton Ti half outs?

Far better off to run and ironwill impact collar on something like an axis then a half out imho. The impact collars are a little pricey but you'll have a super durable setup. Hope this helps.

I run a match grade Easton axis 5mm I’m wondering about foc and what insert I should use the broad head will be a grizzly stick 150 to 200 what’s your thoughts o yeah love the videos

The foc question. U would need to know how long your arrows r cut to to even calculate foc. If u aren’t sure if u will be shooting 150 or 200 gr broadheads the foc question is irrelevant. If u haven’t tuned the arrow to a specific grain weight up front I’d get any insert(they will weigh between 20-90 gr) and stick it in and see how it flies. If you can’t shoot a 5” group at 50 yards you aren’t going to notice the difference between 15% foc and 33% foc. One of the best archers in the world shoots 14%-16% foc and has won a ton of tourneys and killed a ton of stuff.

instead of the titanium half outs, I use stainless steel half outs, they are strong and they do not cost an arm and a leg, like the titanium ones do.

question,, I love my Carbon Injexion arrows. Currently running deep six insert from Easton. but I have had multiple failures with field point breaking off inside the insert if they hit something hard, What system would you recommend for al around use, Target, 3D & hunting

Considering the small micro arrow, would you cut your arrow length down to compensate for the outsert( like the titanium), also how much do the titanium outserts cost?

Yes you can cut them a little shorter if you like ifnit doesn't make them too stiff. The titanium outserts are $80/dozen

I shoot 5mm full metal jackets 340 spine. I am a 28inch draw my arrow weight is 465 grains. I have speed and punch though power. And I use fixed blade broadheads NAP HELLRAZOR .1 1/8 inch cut.

Probably covered this elsewhere but having trouble finding a quality arrow squaring device. Firenock looks to be the only decent one I've seen. Any suggs???

Switching from a 6mm arrow to a 4mm arrow, would that change the spine? Would i have to go from say a 330 to a 250 ?

Only if you're increasing, point weight, poundage, draw length or arrow length.

I shot 5mm axis for a month and felt like ccuracy and groups werent there, swithced back to 6.5mm and groups got tighter, (pulling 45lbs 400 spine 100g G5 montec and got full pass through)

@@brendanmurnane9268 Smaller diameter arrows are a little harder to tune. Tim Gamlingham actually explained that very well. When your bowstring hits behind the arrow, the smaller surface area actually more sensitive to your mistake. Standard 5/16 diameter is fine for average bowhunters.

Do you do much with victory arrows i recently picked up a dozen of there micros for mule deer coming up ??

I’ve been shooting Victory VAPs for years, super solid, accurate, reliable arrow! The insert they come with is garbage, I use that exact out-sert he showed, Easton titanium, 55 grains, expensive but so worth it. I’ve been running that setup for 3 years... have NOT had luck on elk, no shots on elk i should say BUT I’ve shot mulies and wild pigs with no issues. I also shoot exodus broadheads.

I shoot the vap tko elites and can shoot 80 yards comfortably on deer with a mechanical broad head at 86 yards I had a complete pass through double lung 🫁 the gamers are great for less money no real difference until past 80 yards

I love the title... 100% agree ballistic gel is the best consistent medium - sheet metal plywood all the rest of that crap is a waste of time just go hunt and reassess what works for you and what doesn’t.

I get it smaller is better but with a broad head I think that is the biggest factor and x10s going into a deer doesn’t make sense. The cost of thin stiff and thus more brittle arrows just doesn’t make any more sense than a thin wall fatter brittle shaft. I like the axis arrows. A good happy medium and excellent durability always thinner than the 125 gr broad heads that the lightweight inserts really need. Plus reasonable prices.

Yeah I'd never recommend an outdoor target arrow for hunting. Way too light.

People are so hung up on penetration lately. Any compound bow with the correct spined arrow will work fine on whitetails. Some people try to shoot too big a broadhead with lower ke but don't sweat it so much. I shot a buck in the 70s as a kid with a 30 lb recurve using a bear broadhead and it went though the deers lungs and fell out the other side at 22 yards. So it doesn't take that much. Just don't shoot a 40lb bow and a 2 inch broadhead. Common sense.

Don't believe everything you hear people try to sell you the next latest and greatest but let's not forget Fred Bear was getting complete pass-thrus with wood arrows out of a recurve lol shooting 150 fps

an arrow shaft isn't going to experience drag going thru an animal, only the broadhead. what do you think the flesh is going to do? close up on the shaft while the broadhead is still cutting? nah...that's a 1.5 to 2 inch hole punching thru bro.

I'll stick to my 250 spine Vaps with 95 grain outserts I enjoy the maximum "penetration' they give me because my wife says I lack that in real life

Yes. 550+ grain, anything will die in North America.
