In last duel you should sell useless manabreak and don't buy sange. You should take blink and hex, and instead of butterfly which don't help against magic hero you could buy nullifier or bloodtorne to deal with his ghost scepter (bloodthorn after 5 second deals magic damage and ghost scepter increase it even more). You said in the begining that you already deal a lot of damage and need utility item, but sange, butterfly, disperser don't provide utility

I think disperser gives movespeed but yeah butterfly is useless. Brooch, nulli or pike would be more useful.

For your MTG question, i can only look at it from a YuGiOh player perspective And my answer to that is; to focus on consistency to get your strategy going If you can cut your deck budget down *WITHOUT* cutting its consistency, then i'd say to go for it But if you can't, then there is no point in doing that

That game store guy reminds me of my friend that bought a funeral home turned it into a recording studio. He turned the floor above the recording studio into his home and he invites students at the college to play jazz ever Sunday in the recording studio, which is basically his home lol

About magic tourney, while staying at 40 does seem like the more reasonable decision , it would be fun to see (from the bystander perspective) which idea is more powerful, sticking as close to the budget or trying to cut out anything technically unnecessary.

You might probably see a lot of high land count decks with creatures that get power from land count, Monored burn, or whatever flavor of token mass production there is. Its quite complicated to make a funny thematic deck when there is low budget imo... Only other deck I could think about would be Multani and yargle budget deck that wins with single combat commander damage by barely buffing Multani and yargle and getting trough with Rogue's passage or unblockable equipments. Keep us updated on the discord or the videos. I would love to be proved wrong

Honestly my "strongest" budget deck is probably light paws. Mono white auras. Only 1 or 2 special lands and auras are pretty cheap. The only problem is that I learned I don't like voltron cus it's kinda one note. You pop off once and anytime someone sees you play light paws after that you get focused. But like I said, pretty strong for a budget deck. One shotting people by turn 4 or 5 with a half decent opening hand.

You can make a good "hakbal of the surging soul" deck for very cheap. Bulk merfolk, common counter spells, maybe a Hardened scales for more +1/+1.

Event organisers are 100% a thing. It's kinda hard getting a job as one, but you have hosted quite a few events that can help. Alternatively, you just host events that slowly grow in size until you can live off of the income. Coincidentally something I've looked into and thought about for myself

I think you should just go with the cheapest deck and garantee you win all tie breakers. Maybe it is not the best decision, but it sure sounds like the funniest one to me.

I think since YOU made the tournament you could showcase how well you are as a deckbuilder and go for the $30 deck.

Well I mean Baumi. If you want to get into organising some Dota like online tournaments could get involved in organising some of the Amateur like leagues here in South Africa. I also just think it's interesting to see the South African meta considering we are sorta just here doing our own thing XD.

In response to the MtG tournament question: I think both strategies are potentially valid. But, you might end up with some dirty looks if you set up a scoring system and then build your deck to take advantage of it. Like, if you intentionally cheapen your deck, and then end up in a higher position from winning the tiebreakers, it might end up feeling bad for the other players who might feel a bit cheated

  • @humbertomartins9796

Not if it was clearly disclosed in the rules (might still get dirty looks, they just won't be justified)

@@humbertomartins9796 Yeah, im not saying it's reasonable. I'm just saying, if I was invited to a tournament with a $50 dollar deck limit, i built a deck that was around that value, and then the tournament organiser shows up with a cheaper deck and at the end basically says "due to the way I set up this tournament, I actually have more points and so got a higher position" i wouldnt argue with it. But it might make me reconsider playing more tournaments with this person

Yeah it makes me think of a Secret Santa where everyone agrees "the limit is $50", and then one person puts in a $5 gift. Seems kind of scummy, not in the spirit of the rule.

i dont know how to play magic gathering but can you make a deck solely base on probability output, like a luck stats in a game?

  • @pheonixheart1125

    @pheonixheart1125

Kinda. Closest to that are 2 decks I can think of. Chaos decks and Dice decks. Chaos spells deal with randomly pulling cards from the top of your deck normally (look up warp world and chaos warp). The other is focused around cards that make you roll die for bonus effects with coin flips being a mechanic as well in that same vein.

Hi, I spent some time putting some thumbs up cause i felt a little guilty watching your videos every day and skipping your short request. Thanks for all your efforts. Btw i dont know about penny metagame but i suggest to ignote tie-breaks and play what you enjoy more😊 i think that should be the point for non competitive formats. Also i suggest you pauper. It's a pretty deep format end very enjoyable. Good night and good luck 😁

Surely there's no reason to undercut the budget by so much, if everyone is heading for 50, there's no point in cutting so aggressively to 30, might not be much point going below 49

I remember watching this guy 4 weeks ago and i stopped watching because he rambled about magic for 45 minutes straight. KZread recommends him again and he is STILL RAMBLING ABOUT MAGIC THE GATHERING. I can only assume the 4 weeks of videos in between are just a constant ramble about magic no one cares about. Jesus youtube take me seriously when i say dont recommend this channel, i love dota, not hearing about magic.
