I always like to share my experience. Before 55, I’ve no savings in the bank with almost $100K personal loan and no house in my name. I was glad that after transferring the full retirement amount to RA, I still have sufficient to buy a HDB flat, pay off the personal loan and draw out a handsome amount of cash. With a considerable good income, one can still ended with not enough for retirement if not for the CPF scheme.
If not buying any property, just transfer to CPF SA every month while still working.
U can forget about yr cpf if u r 30s or younger. Is there still any reserves is the key question.
