Hey, i have the same printer. did you worry about the electrical contact panels when you cleaned it? How did you clean it? also, did you replace the cartridges or put the same ones back in once you had cleaned? thanks ! my printer isn't printing black ://

Thank you! I watched another video a half dozen times and the jerk never said to unscrew those two screws. I kept looking at them thinking that they're definitely supposed to come out but certainly he would have said so in his very long and dramatic video. But nooooo! He never did. I received the fatal 5702 or 5207 or whatever the heck code it was on my Canon 2720 printer and I'm going to do whatever I can to try to salvage it. I think Canon updated the software to make the printers self-destruct (or get a code indicating such) if one uses anything but they're ridiculously expensive ink cartridges. At least now I have a chance to clean the printhead and see what happens.

hello, thx for the video. i removed, cleaned and replaced the printing head on my Canon Maxify 2320. ive re-installed it and now i get an error that the ink cartridges are not installed correctly. they arent new carts, but installing a new one didnt seem to help, do you have a suggestion?

Had to do this to my MB 5120 because I HAD to buy crappy ink cartridges online instead of the name brand Canon. All these crappy ones did was leak everytime it printed something, the whole inside of my printer was a mess, including my desk, these crappy cartridges were $29.00 for the entire set of cartridges including the black ink. That's what I get for trying to save money! Canon brand is super expensive, but if I have to pay that extra for good quality next time I will. Canon wants nearly $100.00 for the entire set of cartridges though, ridiculous! This includes Wal-Mart! That ink bottle refill stuff doesn't work either, just as bad as the cheap-o cartridges! So, thanks for posting this tutorial, learned my lesson!

Great Video!! I have a question though, my Maxify MB2320 has issues printing Yellow. Leaves blank streaks on the test pattern. Have cleaned, deep cleaned, even changed ink cartridge with no difference. Is there a way to clean the actual print head if I remove it?

Hi, there are some methods to try to clean the printer head, but never tried. In fact you have nothing to looseHomemade Cleaning SolutionYou can make your own homemade solution to clean your printer head. Combine 16 ounces of warm water, eight drops of dishwashing liquid and one ounce of isopropyl alcohol. This formula is nearly identical to commercial cleaning solutions sold by printing supply companies.

I have a MB2720 printer. It doesn't turn on. the power light is on but the printer doesn't start. Any advise of fixing it is appreciated.

Glad it helped. For error code I checked USA site forum and found the following - copy/pasting, I hope it may help. The 5207 error can be caused by a paper jam. Canon has 2 videos that you can view in regards to resolving paper jam or paper feed issues. Please view the following two troubleshooting videos available from the MAXIFY MB2320's Support Page: 1. Remove paper jam from front of printer: ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/MB2300%20series/EN/UF/movie/mb2300-07-1/video-player.htm... 2. Remove paper jam from back of printer: ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/MB2300%20series/EN/UF/movie/mb2300-07-2/video-player.htm... After following the steps in these two videos, does the 5207 error persist on your MAXIFY MB2320? If the error persists, Please perform a roller cleaning: ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/MB2300%20series/EN/BG/bg-maintenance2400.html If the error remains, your MAXIFY MB2320 would require service.

@@PrintCloud That's not a paper jam. That code typically pops up if somebody decides to use something other than a Canon cartridge. I worked for Canon for many years and know how they operate. I just got that code myself and it occurred right after, and I mean immediately after, replacing my color cartridges with generic cartridges of which I've been using for several years. I always keep automatic updates turned off but I recall an issue about a month ago where I had an electrical surge and most of my electronics were reset, thus eliminating my do not update command. I think the printer updated the software which triggered the problem. I will never buy another Canon product again because of it.

I finally looked at a replacement printer head - £64, but a new Maxify printer is only £160 :-)

Hello there. I tried to wash the printer head and I damaged it. The 2 parts of the circuit that are connected with glu got sperated. Any advice how to fix it ?

I’ve had my maxify printer for like 5 years. Yes I was using aftermarket ink but I was buying the same ink cartridges from the same eBay store for the entire time I had the printer. About 6 months ago I ran low on black ink and had to go to a local store to buy a genuine canon black ink cartridge before I ran out. A week After using the genuine canon ink the printer head clogged up. Pretty sad the aftermarket inks never had a problem in 5 years but the canon did. I use this for my business so I use the printer many times per day.

I am afraid that ink may be clogged, it could be about print head or pipes inside the printer. I recommend the printer to be checked by service and estimated for repair cost, as it may be noneconomic to repair :-(

this model requires service technician to do it, only GX series of Canon MAXIFY have maintenance cartridge where it isreally easy to change in a minute - kzread.info/dash/bejne/qGyNxrOifKa2mLA.html

You will need to take to service, replace ink absorber

Can someone help me? On the print head the 2 screws won't come out they're stuck they move a little and then they're stuck please help me

This is probably ink absorber full. Service should open and replace the absorbers and then reset the pritner counter.

well, I cannot take that plastic part off, not as easy as showing!

You kind of have to do a little maneuver with a screw driver - a slight insert and twist. When you get it, you will know - it releases right away. I had to do some gentle experimenting to finally get it off. It's easy once you do it the first time, but yes, it isn't as easy as it looks!

Forget all of this. Simply open the cover and when the print cratridges slide across unplug the printer. Then manually move them and click out the cartridge with the button...

I think I will just get a new printer

Ya. That plate that was first taken out does not exist in my 2022 MB2720. Canon must have read the review and decided to "fix" that piece from being easily removed. When I came down to it, it wasn't necessary to remove it. Just start printing something and while it prints, pull the plug. Carriage is lose. Move the carts so they can easily be removed. Then remove the two screws holding the print head in and take it out. Now I'm going to run some hot water through and let it soak overnight. Printers! What a pain. It's like gangsters found a new way to rip off people in so many different and evolving ways.

I guess print head needs replacement, unfortunately. Try taking out the print head and put the nozzles into distilled water for a day. Maybe it could recover
