not always work, but keep retrying, error 1 is about dirt on lens, so let say you go from point A to point B that takes like 10 to 20 minutes, just keep trying (eject the disc and put back in and let it run by itself), but make sure you put a tiny drop of water on the brush, or put some lens cleaner that's used for glasses. It didn't work on mine the first few times, but I just kept trying since the player I already considered it's dead, and the $5 has been spent, so I was just keep trying and now it works. Again, not always work, but worth a try
