i love seeing the hate for max turn into respect. i became a fan through max because i saw pure greatness. there will be documentaries in the future when these guys are retired and everyone will speak about max like they do for the other f1 legends. charles has been fighting max his whole life, his career is linked to max. all these guys are linked to him. hes a legend.

Max is consistent throughout a season more than anyone else, Norris might be able to get the occasional win but I don’t see him reaching that level of consistency yet. Watch the Aramco guys slap him with another 8.9 or something and putting Lando on top 😂

Max was always quick when Red Bull had that shitty Renault engine. Now they have an engine that is comparable to Merc/Ferrari and Max will keep on dominating. He consistently beat Bottas with a Merc engine that was SO much faster than the Renault engine. Max doesn't need the best car. He needs a car capable of winning and he will win.

Exactly….and still people keep on saying “ he needs different teammate to be called the GOAT”, while he wins in an inferior car compared to the mcLarens for example. What if Sergio is the benchmark…and not Max? This dude is something special. Almost Faultless and always being on top of things, getting the most out of his car. This is Schumacher level of driving, while I truly believe Verstappen is much more consistent. He is a god tier driver and we should enjoy being part of this and enjoy Verstappen for the time he is driving F1

The 2020&21 seasons battle with Lewis molded and shaped Max into the absolute technician and master he is today! Lando, Carlos, and Charles don’t have the repertoire or ability to see the race like Max! He’s Neo from the matrix, gotta find more agent Smith’s to beat this man!

The difference max did not wait to overtake Russel , Lando 12 rounds behind Russel……

If Max was driving the Mclaren for the last 4-5 races, he prob wins 4/5 of them. Max couldve even won in the Mercedes in Canada. Can you say the same for Lando if he was driving the Redbull? Not even close. The fact Lando gets driver of the day when he loses two positions into turn 1, finishes second in the fastest car, just shows the levels of delusion the current F1 fanbase has.

I've been watching F1 since the early 90s and watching Max is a joy. I came from hating the young punk to respecting him as one of the greatest who has ever done it. What a pleasure to watch this and understand the greatness being demonstrated in real time.

Redbull are no longer the quickest, most tyres efficient car on the track. On driver results aggregate in the last few races, they'd come behind Mclaren and Mercedes. The only factor that keeps Redbull at the front is Max Verstappen, in a car which is now inferior to the Mclaren.

At the start of the year, Ferrari had the best tyre deg. Right now it is McLaren, Ferrari and then Red Bull.

Well said about Max! This guy took P2 in his stride and knew he could challenge Lando into T1. The bar is set real high. Merc need to have Max replace Lewis

People have to learn that being quicker than Max over one lap is one thing, beating him over a race distance is something else entirely. Have all the pole positions you want, Max will take the wins and the championships.

The thing that makes him so good is he is contestant as a Cyborg, He was taking 0.25s a lap pulling away from GR for 10 laps in a row at the start then did the same in the middle of the race, If you tell him do 10 laps at 0.2s/lap faster he will do it like a computer.

@@tedfromyt6523 Norris had a three lap fresher tyres and his mediums were 6 laps fresher. In a circuit like Barcelona where graining and deg is high, that's a lot. The RB also had a very aggressive undercut strategy.

Max's biggest strength is The years of battle he had to do to scrape any win from Hamilton, that he plays with the minds of his opponents. He can deliver most of the times when it really matters without making mistakes which most of the other 19 are unable to do. Leclerc tried but could not hold up, Norris is trying but he's unable to beat the sheer consistency of Max. And that's is his biggest strength

We may have not perceived as such, but he was laser focused in 2023 too, in order to be able to break the winning streak record and the most wins in a season record. And now in early 2024 he also equaled Senna's most consecutive poles, which is incredible You could see he really wanted those records.

It remains the question of making ZERO material mistakes. And whilst Red Bull is lacking at some points, Max is not making material mistakes when it counts. On the McLaren side of things, the team isn't lacking much of anything, but Lando is making material mistakes. Hence Max is and will remain inevitable.

Yes I agree, think Lando is great himself, absolutely and better still now that he tasted victory and confidence on top and no longer content with #2. Really like the guy, soft spoken and a great guy, but I do fear Max have got that extra the very best of the very best have got, perhaps even more still than those before him? But I fear Lando need a slightly better car to make that happen over a season + be at his very best over the whole season at that? I hope Lando reach that goal, deserve it after such a long stint sticking to Mclaren, wish them the best. Let's wait and see, also wish for the cars to stay super close but again if they do it feels like Max must mess up not to win but just speculation so? So tragic they keep entering new rules as soon as the field bunch up, but we have 2025 as well to look forward to.

If you don't know him and you see Max, you would think Max is a poor student with his jeans and backpack. But then on the grid you see the perfect racer. I love that. No fuss; pure racing. Very different from Lewis who has an eye for fashion and dares to wear the most extravagant clothes and looks cool, in my eyes. I like this too. Such different personalities and both fantastic racers. Great that he was back on the podium. During the post race interview you didn't see any tension between the two at all. Both looked relaxed. Let us take an example from that.

Happy to see you pay some respect to Max, I think his performances are too often overlooked and downplayed or attributed to the car. Yes the car had been good the past few years but Max always maximised and the past few races the car was not the fastest and it’s still max that pulls it all together

Lando is a nice guy and the driver of the day was a personality vote. Invite Lando to Thanksgiving dinner and enjoy his company. In a F1 race judgement is on the team and driver and how well they get the best out of the track and car. Our country and, apparently much of the world, are focused on personality and not the job at hand. Max drove the tires off that RBR. Excellent’s is the bench mark in F1.

Max likes people being on pole.... Because he likes the statistic of winning from not-pole. Charles - Lando - Lewis they know all about it.

I don't think Perez is the benchmark. He is not as bad as it looks, but he also isn't on the level of Leclerc, Norris or Hamilton. I don't think any other driver except for Verstappen would put 6 tenths per lap on this circuit on Perez. The Red Bull right now seems behind the McLaren and might be closer to the level of Mercedes or Ferrari.

Max brings an “upgrade” to every single race. Not aero or mechanical. He simply rises to the challenge. That will be tough to beat for anyone.

Nobody of the current grid beats him in equal machinery...and pretty much nobody of all the F1 drivers would. Max is an 0.3 seconds a lap upgrade, since they all make mistakes that you need to compensate for. It currently mainly is exciting since RBR isn't the fastest.

I was on the time sheets all race long and can confirm that Max was not the fastest car. He was quick when it was important but Lando was 0.3/0.5 sec faster in all stints no matter medium or soft. But Max had was able to extract some tenths when it mattered most. I wonder what would have happened if Landl didnt go long in the first stin... He lost 4-5 secs there... 😅

@@Roxak Lando messed up himself out of position in turn 1 leaving him at P3. That already lost him the race since you now need to overtake and initially Lando had no overspeed to keep up with Max and George. Then they went long and didn't help either. But that all started in turn 1 where Lando pushed Max on the grass and still couldn't keep him behind.

Yeah Max is good , fair to say, he’s the best at his craft.. certainly proved that today.. I’m Ferrari fan and what I’d give to see em in a Ferrari!

Since miami red bull just isnt the fastest car anymore. But max: 2nd-1st-6th-1st-1st. Hard to beat that consistency over a full season.

My man, I’ve been a fan of the sports from the mid 80’s. I seen great drivers come along the way. Credit who credits comes. Max did an absolute banger this weekend’s race. Converted his own potential and the teams brilliance to a clear win having not the best car. Then to you @cameron, your video suddenly popped up and was interested in your view. Even my wife sitting across the table here is teling this YT video is like a theater performance. You are explaining this like it is one huge poem or something, I really like this :). Keep them coming my man, awesome

What a match though. I'm honestly in awe. Mclaren are clear, I'm not sure max can keep this up and rely on luck like bad starts for Lando etc. I'm sure when Lando and mclaren nail it max can't close the gap in performance between the two teams. Rb really need to up their game. But really excited for the close racing that we get to witness for the rest of the season. Major respect to max for actually nailing it against the odds

If i remember correctly, Max was preparing with the RB18 before the weekend, hence not doing the simrace.

Lando vs Max is a bit like Maverick vs Iceman. One is the charismatic underdog you can't help but cheer for because he has what it takes to win, and the other is the ice cold and laser focused machine of the tarmac who wins because that is simply what he was made to do.

I think the implosion of the Racing Bulls should be one of the bigger stories this week. It was awful. I really don't think Norris' start was that bad, at least not until he ran Verstappen onto the grass. The long run to turn one is always going to benefit the chasers.

It's not the unforced errors, it's that forcing an error seems impossible

Fernando and Lewis are the only drivers who can compete with Max. Lando failed today despite the bad start do not let Max through and he failed.

I am a dutch fan that watched f1 for the last 30 years. I always cheered for drivers of other countries since we did not have a dutch driver on the grid. Max is just amazing to watch. It feels great to, after 30 years, have a dutch champion, one who can rival the greatest. But I really enjoy Lando going for it. The Mclaren is fast and Lando is driving his best season. I want to see a knife edge battle for the world championship and not just max driving 10 seconds ahead. The Mclaren is orange also, so that makes loosing to it less annoying 😂.

When the rest of the coureurs are chilling and resting Max races on the simulator with his friends and other drivers. He watches and learns from other races and racers. Racing is in his DNA 24/7. That’s why Max is unbeatable even with the fourth fastest car he smashes the competition.

Great video as always. Lando is a very strong driver, his race pace is ridiculous. I think if you put a lesser diver alongside Piastri at Mclaren, no one would be saying the Mclaren is the best car. This reminds me of Max in 2021 when he was up against LH in the superior Mercedes. Lando is now seeing just how good Max is. Max won Imola, Canada and Spain when not in the faster car. HE also could have won Miami but for the safety car. Ferrari in the middle of nowhere and it feels very typical of them once all the hype and talk fades it turns out that they are no where really. Come end of the season I think Merc, Mclaren and Max will be clear out in front. How long till LH regrets his move. Now that Merc are not taking his input, the car is getting better.

It's only whilst Max is being seriously challenged can we then truly admire Max's greatness. Straightforward car domination isn't enough. When he got told to push all the way, that's when you saw the real him and a real race. Wanted LN to win but is what it is. He knows now what he's got to do and do it consistently.

Max Verstappen is changing the very DNA of what a Formula One driver should be all about. He's Unreal.

2020 and 2021 really forged Max’s resilience. It will not be easy to break Max and the current RB team.

What really helped Max today is his ability to overtake. If Lando could have overtaken Russel and keep closer to Max, he could have won. For the rest, I can agree with the messages in the video and having nothing left to add.

Part of it was down to the setup compromise he and his team made. Giving up sector 2 for 1 and 2. He still had to use the younger Max Verstappen aggression to get it done.

Maybe it is better to not be P1 in the constructors. That would give Red Bull more wind tunnel testing time. In a season where they are no longer the fastest car, it might be crucial. But, then all the crash damage Perez brings can’t be good.

In any case, it is now clear that the RB is no longer the strongest car and that so far it has been Max who has just managed to win the races. As strong as the McLaren is now, it won't be long before they start winning races perhaps Silverstone, despite Max's absolute brilliance! RB will have to do something if they want to prevent McLaren from taking over the flag :-)

Cam again spot on the money about todays race and all the drivers performances. Also bringing up the race producing which was horrendous today, and has been shit for a while now. We need to get back the guy/crew who produced 21 and 22. 23 slowly getting worse and 24 has been just bad most races. lots of money we are paying we need better coverage.

It's been brutal for a few years but worse than ever this year. The Director is basically not directing at all. The commentary is unfocused and inconsistent ,dull and repetitive. Watched a few previous races broadcast on the Sports Network over the last few weeks and the entire production from the great cinematic coverage of the circuit, the location, the general atmosphere was interesting and well.produced and exciting. The actual coverage of the race was great. Good angles, more camera positions that catch the speed the cars are hurtling around at. Plus the visual coverage of the actual battles and action synced to the commentators play by play dialogue. They were like night and day exciting to the long shot drone footage of recent races and reliance on replays to cover the passes and significant racing. I was also gob smacked when they had their 'remote' studio coverage a few races ago. It was awful.

Seems like MV outdrove the RB20. On top of that: the strategies for GR and LN seemed to be slightly off. If Merc and McL would be spot on we will have a race AND a championship...perhaps...MV really is great and hard to beat when he has a decent car....the whole point of this video actually :)
