For those who dislike..... You need to appreciate the hard work it took to train the dog to skate. A lot of love, care and patients was part of the training. Max loves his skateboard. He was never forced to skate. As anyone with a bulldog knows, it is impossible to get a bulldog to do something it doesn't want to do.

Negative comments are like the nose on our face Everybody has one. It would take so much effort to get an animal to do something that they don't want to do naturally. I love watching the dogs surf-skateboard to me shows a lot of love

It's interesting that it's likely impossible to design a deck that suits Max's stance and center of gravity. That looks like an early to mid 80's board, especially with the truck so close to the nose; bulldogs are front-heavy with those large and heavy heads, and that arrangement keeps his center of gravity well behind the front wheels. There isn't a lot of upturn to the tail either, all the better to keep his rear legs from getting fouled in the deck while he's pushing. I do wonder if the board had to have high durometer wheels, if soft wheels might succumb to those teeth. About the time I stopped skating and started driving my Firebird everywhere, Santa Cruz released a huge wheel called a Bullet Road Weapon, 80mm in diameter and 88A softness. I rode some and always swore that when my 92A Bullet 66's wore out, I'd get a set. Never did. I wonder if Max would have liked those or if he would have made chew toys out of them. I had a bulldog and unfortunately I know that they have fairly short lifespans, and I'm writing nine years later. I hope that if he's still kicking it that he's happy, and that if he has gone to the skate park in the sky that he had a great life.

Deborah Oda I started training Max when he was 8 weeks old. Maybe 20 minutes a day, for about a year. Then I quit for about a year because he didn't get it. I decided to try once more when he was older and he took off on it and skated all over the place.

Wow he's awesome at it. Is he a mollet bulldog? He's got more leg & looks a bit more athletic than an akc bulldog.
