Max's Kansas City was a truly unique, historical centerpiece of the creative art forms & music scene that was birthed in New York City but influenced the entire world with its trend-setting, mind-blowing culture shock way of introducing debut musicians who would later become world-famous, photographers whose pictures ended up in major books, magazines, commercials & museums. Artists whose artwork would shape & shock the culture & poets whose words still remain in our current youth's vocabulary, tee shirts & billboards, actors, directors, scriptwriters & their films that either went on to the silver screen or became cult classics & it all stemmed from a two-floor venue & restaurant at 213 Park Avenue South in Gotham founded by a very gifted & creative young man named Micky Ruskin in 1965. Though there remain various videos about the venue, I think it's it's about time there was a feature film produced on this imperial story because it had such a major impact on many lives, including my own & the cheesecake they served was dynamite!
