As a child born and raised in DC, I remember him being a constant on the news my parents watched. He was Black, Handsome and he looked like us, he was well loved and respected in Chocolate City. Even though he was reluctant to accept his ground breaking success as the first his fans in DC and I’m sure Chicago remember him for exactly that. The Black community trusted him and we still celebrate his success and life. Rest In Peace, Mr. Robinson.

He was a class act and stood up for what he believed in.Very regal. He always looked cool as a cucumber on the air.I watched him everyday as a child and later, as teenager in the mid 1980s. He made me feel like all thing are possible. I remember when he died in 1988 and it made national news.I remember being very sad. I was 18 years old at the time. Great video.I love it!!!

Wow, what an incredible video! I’d read little things about him and his life over the years but this is the first time I’ve seen anything this in-depth. 👍

This story trumps anything on KZread about him you went in to depth and held nothing back thank you beyond celebrity I never heard of this man until you posted your video today. It’s sad that his life was taken early by aids, but he made the most of it and thou he was hated, he didn’t let that stop him and he made a difference for young black reporters & news casters everywhere. to me, this is an unsung.
