MAX POWER! Electric Mountain Bike Test - Trek Rail
Спорт
Let's test this e-bike at MAX POWER by running in TURBO mode! We will conduct the ultimate range test on the Trek Rail 9.8 XT powered by the new Bosch Line CX motor. Let's push the 85nm of torque and 750wh battery to the limits!!!

What a great test my man!! Yes there is no denying for guys with limited time to ride these Trek Rails are a great option. I'm retired so I'm not time restricted. In fact the 12.5 loop on my local trail takes me over 2 hours with 1:45 moving time with my Slash. For reference a guy like yourself in good shape can do it in under an hour. Thank you Jared!!

Thank you for the awesome comment. I love my Slash and can’t see myself getting rid of it. That’s the only reason why I haven’t sold it to buy a Rail or Fuel EXE

Great video! I have the 9.7 and am constantly amazed by the quality of this bike, The Bosch has a very smooth power application with all kinds of range. I did 20 miles and 4,000' and only used 35%. The emtb mode is really fun.

Trek needs to sort out the sizing on the Rail, @ 5'11 m is too small on the reach for me and L too long. They need to use the same sizing found on the slash, m/l etc. I bought a turbo levo instead due to those sizing issues. If they do fix the sizing I'll get a rail next time, especially if they do a 750 watt battery on an alloy frame (aka more affordable)

I have Gen2 9.7 SLX/XT. Mainly ride gravel with it. It seems to work fine without using the turbo mode. Have done a little single track with it and just using the eco mode, it is amazing.

Heck yeah. Turbo mode for the win 🥇
Nice, unique comparison of power mode review!🤟 Turbo mode, for me to learn on climbs tech and switches is "motor overrun"...especially on exposed, sketchy singletrack ascents. I have to downshift to an easier gear or two/three to be safe.✌️

For sure! That Turbo mode is a bit much. Just wanted to make a video that showed something different. Thanks for the awesome comment 👍🏻

💯4-sure! Turbo exists explicitly for climbing... defines the E-mtb! Keep up your keen reviews 👍
Good job on the video, I wonder how the battery fares in colder conditions, winter is coming... P.S.: In your description, there is a typo (9.7 instead of 9.8)

Heck yeah! I was lucky enough to borrow this bike from a good friend, but still don’t own an e-bike 😔 I’m hoping to grow this channel enough to get one eventually.
Sometimes the battery will show 98% the next day. May not be correct but every day you can lose a very little bit of capacity if the bikes sits for days. If I want to get max capacity, I generally top it off, just before my ride that day. Had you never gone in anything above Tour mode, you would have gotten into the 30 mile range with it.
@JaredHoff

For sure! Definitely could have gotten better range in your mode. Glad to hear I’m not the only one that experienced it being below 100% after charging all night.
😎I have T. Rail 5 ! good video by the way but you' didn't say how the performance with the shifting on the component on that eMTB...

Hi could please inform your height and your choice getting which size. Because im going to get rail 5 i need to decide which size i should get. Im 5.8. Thanks
@JaredHoff

I’m 6’2” so I fall inbetween a L and XL. You should really try to demo a bike to get the sizing right Getting a bike that’s the right size makes all the difference. Part of sizing is personal preference. Especially if you fall inbetween sizes on the size chart.
Set a timer for about 4-6 hours when you charge the bike. Do not leave on over night. The bike will get to100 % in around 6-8 hours. After a certain amount of time, it will start to decrease to around 90-95 %. That's just the way they work...

In the manual bosch says if the charger is left in after its fully charged to 100 it will periodically switch back on to see if it needs to charge more due to battery decrease while in stand by so you should be able to leave to charger over night and wake up with 100 percent .even when not plugged in for 2 days my allant8s hasn't dropped any percentage points when I turned it back on.
so Jared.... a recent health issue with the heart has me looking at the TREK RAIL 7 gen 3 bike ...... thoughts on the parts and suspension packages offered ?>
@JaredHoff
6 ай бұрын
My concerns with the Rail 7 are: 1.) They didn’t give it the same geometry as the higher and models. 2.) The price! You can get a e-bike with better parts for a cheaper price. Like the N8E (Link below), which comes with way better suspension, drivetrain… basically everything. bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/c/3995632/1308917/15955

Love the bike design kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
