The list of outstanding things this speedrunner did besides, obviously, the world record: 1) Turned almost every cutscene into comedy gold. 2) Saved the subway service guy. 3) Spared a huge number of enemies. 4) Stopped the damn train Spider-Man style. 5) Breakdanced through both nightmare sequences. 6) Obliterated almost every boss in a matter of seconds. 7) Destroyed the helicopter before Nicole even got to the rooftop, thus made her fkn yeet herself (cuz she probably realised that would still be much better fate than staying at Max's mercy). 8) Reminded me what a masterpiece this game is. Поздравляю с мировым рекордом (пусть даже через почти полтора года после его установки), невероятно крутой спидран.

This is not only one of the most impressive spedruns, but also a comedy gold, especially cut scenes and confused enemies. I also love 2 Maxes at the end, just running wild xd

@@Maximus20778 you need to spam quicksave / quickload just moment before cutscene starts in roscoe street. You can then control Max during cutscene. Go before the train so it hits you. You will have zero health but you can't die in cutscene. I have managed to this once so far.

20:26 is just super hilarious to watch I sometimes do this when I was a kid i didn't know its a speedrun strat. Nice one.

I think real world Max really finished all his matters in less than an hour lol

Also, Nicole Horne was not fast enough and helicopter already crashed so she just jumped from the roof 😆

I was searching "Max Payne speedrun" and was not expecting to be like this, blowed my mind, great work sir, you deserve a thumbs up 👍

Those glitched cutscenes are some looney tunes comedy gold :D Max is getting away in the background while enemies are having a chat lol. It also seems Horne survives at the end and only the helicopter pilot gets killed, a sequel when?

So crazy I randomly started playing this game and beat it the same day as this new world record speed run was posted. Took me 9hrs though over 2 weeks. Haha.

Speedruns should come with a warning; "You WILL be confused"! Great game/memories and its amazing to see what you guys have managed to do with it. Fantastic.

Seeing this speedrun I feel like a maniac for having killed all those poor NPCs that actually weren't even into shooting me back when I way playing Max Payne but just giving me confused stares. Feels bad man.

I want to speedrun this game so badly but that super jump glitch is so damn hard to do. I spent hours trying to do it, only managed to do it once. Wish there was some mod that trains your muscle memory on the timing by flashing a color or something. :( Any tips?

Do you lock your game at 30 or 50 fps? I spend a lot of time for practice 3-4 hours per day only for super jump Practice makes perfect.

The easiest way to do it is to get a program e.g. Fraps to record the game to 30 fps and just keep practising basically. There are certain weapons that it will work with, and other weapons it won't work with. The best way you can do it is by switching from pistols to shotgun and vice versa. It is really annoying and frustrating in the beginning but once you do it enough times, it becomes muscle memory. Even when I hadn't played the game for years I still remembered everything because of how much time I spent practising. I would recommend practising it in the level where Max jumps out the window in the beginning P3C5.

The part when you are in train, just after Max's house, its so interesting to see that part from different angle, and also can you move when you are in train for that few seconds? Probably yes and it would be interesting to enter cheat for all weapons and kill that drug addict in train. Guy from Slippy slides channel made out of bounds video for Max Payne, but sadly he didn't cover the train part, to stop cutscene and explore from inside with free camera hack. Also, the part after subway- Chapter 3, Playing it bogart. There is part where one guy is sitting on chair and when he sees you he runs to wardrobe to get shotgun. Interesting is when you try to outrun him to the wardrobe by shooting him in leg to stagger him, so you get to the shotgun before him- he pulls up lead pipe and tries to kill you, even if you dont pick up that shotgun, if you only manage to get in front of him to block his way so he cant get to the wardrobe- he pulls up an lead pipe. I dont know why does this happen, was it intended that he draws alternative weapon if he doesn't manage to get shotgun in time, did developers predicted that someone will try to do it so they made it on purpose, or all enemies in max payne 1 have lead pipe as primary weapon and can select it if they cant get gun.

does you still need to lock at 30 to do the weapon jump? i only run max payne 2 but im interested running max payne

so this is the reason why max has a sniper rifle in the intro, he was speedruning the history himself

Impressive run! is the dmwg setup @ 20:06 more consistent w/ save glitching or why did you do it that way? 30:50 Why did none ever think about going left before xD 44:04 i didnt knew, that this would be much faster than the normal way. The rest of the run was really good optimized timing!

TY man 1) Yeah, saves helps you doing that more consistent. 2) Same question xDDD 3) Yeah, new strat what i tested few days ago, still can save `6-7 secodns if you dont miss any shots.

Августин не скис, он пушит DoA и уже имеет отличный результат. Уверен, что и мой рек, когда нибудь побьет. Минуту не планирую.

Можно вопросы? :) 1) Почему такая плохая графика? Выставлены низкие настройки? 2) Как управляешь максом во время катсцен? 3) 3:00 -- что здесь происходит? Почему здоровье перестаёт убывать? Какой-то баг, при котором вместо смерти, включается бессмертие? 4) Как делаются высокие прыжки? 5) 11:57 -- зачем столько сохранений? Что это даёт? Это обрывает катсцены? 6) 4) Почему мобы бегают, смотрят на тебя, но не стреляют? (Только что перепрошёл игру, и постоянно подгорала жопа от меткости и реакции врагов, даже на низком уровне сложности.) p.s. Отличный спидран.

1) Настройки высокие, кроме разрешения. Я раню в оконном разрешении 800x600, из за чего при записи в обс моё изображение растягивается. 2) Использую Сейв глитч. 3) Никакого бессмертия, макс все еще может умереть-это Dead Man Walking Glitch. Ломаются скрипты смерти и игра думает, что Макс мертв. 4) При смене одноручного оружия на двуручное (и наоборот) нажать прыжок. Так же надо залочить игру на 30 или 50 фпс для стабильного выполнения, так как трюк фреймперфектный. 5) Пункт 2 6) Пункт 3

Yes we pick it up for canceling DMWG, because its faster continue speedrun without that glitch

If you switch between certain weapons at the right time you can achieve the 'superjump'. e.g. Pistols to Shotgun. It's much easier to achieve with 30fps as opposed to 60 due to the timing of when you can jump. It takes a lot of practise initially but once you get the hang of it then it becomes muscle memory.
